On Thursday, Steve Bannon, the former chief strategist for President Donald Trump, was swatted by police while live on air.
During a segment of his “War Room” podcast, Bannon revealed the incident occurred during the first hour of the show, as Bannon was in the middle of discussing ongoing investigations.
“We got swatted in the middle of the show when I was in the C-block in the first hour, telling my team, hey can you knock it off? I’ve got to concentrate here. We’re actually getting swatted,” Bannon revealed to his listeners.

“The criminals, and it is criminals, that continue to swat us have to understand that the police are savvy to you and investigating it. And what they’re trying to do on the swats is they’re trying to have suicide by police. They’re trying to make sure that something happens here, that one of the police officers gets concerned about what’s going on and actually starts firing,” Bannon explained during the show.
He went on to explain that the swatting was a deliberate attempt to silence him and other conservative voices like Tucker Carlson and Donald Trump, who have been critical of the current administration’s policies.
“They fear this audience. They understand that this is ascendant and what they’re going to try to do is take any voice whether it’s Donald Trump or Tucker Carlson or Steve Bannon, the war room, they’re going to try to eliminate all those voices. They understand that an informed electorate is an electorate that will demand consent to the governed,” Bannon said.
Swatting is a serious offense and is considered a form of domestic terrorism. It puts both the victim and the responding officers at risk.
“The DC Metro and the people around this area understand about these and the criminals. Here’s why. They fear this audience,” Bannon concluded.
