While golfing in Scotland, former President Donald Trump took a moment to answer questions from reporters regarding the ongoing trial over rape allegations levied by writer E. Jean Carroll.

“Will you attend the trial, Mr. President?” one reporter asked.

“I will probably attend – and I think it’s a disgrace, it’s a disgrace that it’s allowed to happen,” Trump responded.

“False accusations, against a rich guy – or in my case, against a famous, rich, and political person that’s leading in the polls by 40 points – and I have to go back for a woman who has made a false accusation about me,” he continued.

“This woman is a disgrace and it shouldn’t be allowed to happen in our country.”

Carroll is an American journalist, advice columnist, and author who accused former President Donald Trump of sexually assaulting her in a department store dressing room in the mid-1990s. Carroll made the accusation in her 2019 book, “What Do We Need Men For? A Modest Proposal,” in which she details the alleged encounter.

Trump has denied the allegations and called them “totally false” and a “hoax.” He also argued that Carroll was not his type and that he had never met her. In response, Carroll sued Trump for defamation, arguing that his denials had damaged her reputation and career.

Last month, it was revealed that billionaire Democrat Reid Hoffman has been covertly funding Carroll’s expensive suit against Trump.
