BREAKING: Trump Brokers Ceasefire

After nearly two weeks of airstrikes, missile salvos, and mounting fears of a full-scale war in the Middle East, President Donald Trump announced Monday that Israel and Iran have agreed to a ceasefire set to begin within hours — a move that could end what he now calls “THE 12 DAY WAR.”

The dramatic announcement came via Trump’s Truth Social account, where the president revealed that both nations had consented to a “Complete and Total CEASEFIRE” scheduled to begin roughly six hours from now. The deal outlines a staggered halt to hostilities: Iran will begin its ceasefire first, followed by Israel twelve hours later. If successful, the 24-hour truce would be marked as the formal end of the conflict.

“CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE!” Trump posted. “This is a War that could have gone on for years, and destroyed the entire Middle East, but it didn’t, and never will!”

The announcement marks a stunning shift in what had rapidly become one of the most volatile international flashpoints of Trump’s second term.

Tensions spiked when the U.S., in joint coordination with Israeli forces, launched high-impact airstrikes against key Iranian nuclear facilities. The strikes targeted installations in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan, reportedly causing major setbacks to Iran’s nuclear infrastructure. Trump described the operation as “decisive” and claimed it sent a clear message to the regime in Tehran.

Iran responded swiftly, with Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei warning of “irreparable damage” to U.S. interests should Washington escalate further. Iranian officials denounced the strikes as unprovoked aggression, while global powers like Russia and China criticized the U.S. for fueling instability in the Middle East.

On Monday, Iran retaliated by launching missiles at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, a key U.S. military hub. Most of the missiles were intercepted, and no American casualties were reported. Trump later praised the base’s defense systems and warned Tehran that the U.S. won’t hesitate to retaliate even harder if needed.

If the ceasefire holds, it would mark a significant diplomatic victory for President Trump, who has long styled himself as a dealmaker on the world stage. In his Truth Social post, he praised both Israel and Iran for showing the “Stamina, Courage, and Intelligence to end” the fighting.

Trump wrote Monday afternoon, “On the assumption that everything works as it should, which it will, I would like to congratulate both Countries, Israel and Iran, on having the Stamina, Courage, and Intelligence to end, what should be called, ‘THE 12 DAY WAR.'”

“This is a War that could have gone on for years, and destroyed the entire Middle East, but it didn’t, and never will!” Trump added.

“God bless Israel, God bless Iran, God bless the Middle East, God bless the United States of America, and GOD BLESS THE WORLD!” he wrote in closing.

Despite the ceasefire announcement, the U.S. military remains on high alert across the region. Defense officials warn that Iranian-backed militias and cyber units could still act independently, even if Tehran halts official hostilities. The State Department has issued heightened travel warnings for Americans in the Gulf region, and security at embassies has been tightened.
