BREAKING: Trump Indictment Set for Wednesday, Will be Told to Surrender
Former President Donald J. Trump will likely be indicted this Wednesday.
“The former president, who is currently in Florida, is expected to be formally charged tomorrow, after which the Manhattan District Attorney’s office will reach out to Trump and his Secret Service detail to make arrangements for his surrender, according to the insider” according to the DailyMail. Trump will be finger-printed and have a mug shot taken as well.
However, according to the source, “there will be no arraignment this week.”
An arraignment is a court proceeding where a defendant appears before a judge to hear the charges filed against them and to enter a plea, which is usually guilty or not guilty. During the arraignment, the judge also informs the defendant of their constitutional rights, such as the right to legal counsel, and sets the bail or conditions of release.
As a result “it’s all-hands-on-deck for the New York Police Department and Metro Police Department.”
Earlier on Tuesday, Trump wrote on Truth Social “While Congress is at it, they should look at the Corrupt Attorney General of New York State, Letitia James, who got elected solely on a “I WILL GET TRUMP” platform, without knowing anything about me. She then brought a completely bogus lawsuit, which is presided over by an A.G. picked, Trump hating Judge, a political hack whose Court this case should not be in – It shoud be in the Commercial Division, but he wouldn’t let go, is pushing it hard, and knows exactly what he wants to do…”
Trump continued, “The Chief Judge of New York State should remove this ridiculous case to the Commercial Division, where it belongs. Legal professionals are asking why this hasn’t happened long ago? It is DISGRACEFUL!”
According to the DailyMail:
NYPD is the largest police department in the country, with roughly 36,000 current officers and 19,000 civilian employees. This week’s memo suggests that all 36,000 officers are expected to be in uniform and on standby for deployment on Tuesday.
Many lawmakers and politicians on both sides of the aisle have said no one wants a repeat of January 6 – with Republicans claiming they don’t expect the demonstrations to turn violent, but warned instead of a ‘political circus’ surrounding any potential indictment.
On Monday afternoon, the NYPD met with the U.S. Secret Service and the chief of public safety for state court officers with a decision to ramp up security around the courthouse starting Tuesday morning, a law enforcement official told DailyMail.com.
However, the source said the indictment is not expected until Wednesday, at the earliest, and that Trump likely wouldn’t come to New York this week.
‘They had their meeting and discussed a whole bunch of stuff about putting extra lighting out there, how they’re going to put more barriers out there, and send their special response teams in,’ the official said.
Many are disgruntled about the coming indictment on Trump. On Tuesday, Senator Rand Paul called for the arrest of New York Attorney General Alvin Bragg, who is leading the indictment proceedings.
“A Trump indictment would be a disgusting abuse of power. The DA should be put in jail,” the Republican tweeted. Paul joins the voices of many who have slammed the indictment as a witch hunt and nothing more than a political ploy to smear Trump’s 2024 campaign.
