BREAKING: Video Shows Mitch McConnell Being Wheeled Out On Stretcher
New video reportedly shows emergency responders wheeling a person on a stretcher from Sen. Mitch McConnell’s Washington, D.C., home after a June 14 call for an unconscious person, adding fresh fuel to the mystery surrounding the Kentucky Republican’s health.
A neighbor told CNN they opened their door around 8:30 a.m. and saw two ambulances, a fire truck and Capitol Police officers blocking the entire street outside McConnell’s residence.
Video recorded by the neighbor shows emergency responders moving a person on a stretcher toward an ambulance.
The footage was taken from a distance, and the person’s face is not visible.
Once inside the ambulance, the person’s lower legs appeared to be covered by an orange blanket, though the feet were visible.
The neighbor said officers told them there had been a “medical emergency.”
When the neighbor asked whether McConnell was the one having the emergency, officers said they would block the street for anybody.
The neighbor told CNN they later learned from another eyewitness, who said they saw the person’s face, that the person on the stretcher was McConnell.
That witness said McConnell was not wearing an oxygen mask.
The video and neighbor’s account offer new details about a hospitalization that McConnell’s office has described only in broad terms.
When the incident first happened, McConnell’s spokesperson said only that the senator was “admitted to the hospital this morning” and was “receiving excellent care.”
Weeks later, McConnell’s team still has not said what prompted the hospital stay or provided specific details about his condition.
Friends and former colleagues have said they have spoken with McConnell recently, but they also have not offered details about his health.
A spokesperson for McConnell declined to comment.

The neighbor who spoke to CNN said emergency responders brought the person on the stretcher out of McConnell’s home about 30 minutes after they first noticed emergency vehicles on the street.
The neighbor said the person’s uncovered feet stood out.
“He’s in a stretcher, and he’s in some sort like orange foam looking blanket type thing,” the neighbor said.
The neighbor said they looked at McConnell’s feet, which were uncovered and, in a brief glimpse, were “not moving.”
The neighbor said they personally did not see McConnell’s face, but others on the block did.
“One of my neighbors is like, ‘Oh yeah, it’s Mitch, I saw his face,’” the neighbor recounted to CNN.
An EMS audio recording published by an independent journalist indicated emergency responders were called to McConnell’s Washington home for an “unconscious” person for a “cardiac arrest.”
Someone on the recording is heard saying, “CPR in progress.”

The neighbor said emergency crews moved quickly, but did not appear panicked.
“In a situation where perhaps time is of the essence, there seems to be a little bit more urgency, but there was no urgency here,” the neighbor told CNN.
When the emergency vehicles left the street, the neighbor said their sirens were not on.
McConnell’s lengthy hospitalization has triggered intense speculation about his condition and whether he can continue serving in the Senate.
Several high-profile Republicans have tried to quiet the rumors.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune has said he recently spoke with McConnell.
CNN senior political commentator Scott Jennings told Kasie Hunt on “The Arena” that he spoke with McConnell on the phone Tuesday and said his “voice sounded strong,” and McConnell was “feeling OK — obviously well enough to call me on the phone.”
McConnell, 84, is not seeking reelection but has said he plans to serve the rest of his term.
His office’s refusal to give a fuller explanation has only made the questions louder.
Now, with video reportedly showing a stretcher outside his home, Kentucky voters are still waiting for a direct answer about what happened.
