On Wednesday, President Zelensky is set to address Congress in Washington D.C. and lecture the American people about how much of our taxpayer dollars they need in order to fight Russia. Sadly, Congress has already agreed and they are shoveling him boatloads of cash with no end in sight.
In response to this visit, the Kremlin sent a dark message, saying that there is now “no chance” to resume peace talks with Ukraine.
In a call with reporters, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that continued Western arms supplies to Ukraine would lead to a “deepening” of the conflict – something which could backfire on Kyiv, he warned.
“The supply of weapons continues and the range of supplied weapons is expanding. All of this, of course, leads to an aggravation of the conflict. This does not bode well for Ukraine,” Peskov said.
When asked if Moscow had any expectations that something positive could come from Zelenskiy’s trip to Washington D.C, Peskov answered: “No”.
According to reports, the United States is poised to approved the delivery of advanced missile systems to Ukraine to help them in their fight against Russia.
Ukraine is asking for extra help because they see a massive Russia offensive coming in the near future.
“The Russians are preparing some 200,000 fresh troops,” General Valery Zaluzhny, the head of Ukraine’s armed forces, told The Economist. “I have no doubt they will have another go at Kyiv.”
Ukraine military officials says this 200,000 troop blitz from Russia could come as early as February.
