British Royal Family Member Evicted, Stripped Of Titles
King Charles has officially torn away his disgraced brother Andrew’s “prince” title and ordered him to pack his bags and leave Royal Lodge — a move that slams the door on Andrew’s life as a pampered Windsor.
The palace said the King has “initiated a formal process” to strip his embattled sibling of every last royal honor, declaring he will now be known simply as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.
Andrew, 65, has been drowning in scandal for years thanks to his infamous friendship with convicted sex predator Jeffrey Epstein — a stain the monarchy has never managed to bleach out. He has always denied any wrongdoing, but the damage has been done.
The swift and brutal punishment also hits his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, and their daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, who lose their tie to the Royal Lodge estate — the sprawling Windsor mansion Andrew has clung to as his final symbol of status.
“His Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove the Style, Titles and Honours of Prince Andrew,” Buckingham Palace announced Thursday night. “Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.”
“His lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided him with legal protection to continue in residence. Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease and he will move to alternative private accommodation,” the palace said, calling the steps necessary “notwithstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations against him.”
“Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse.”

Sources say Andrew didn’t fight the decision — a sign he knows the palace walls have finally closed in for good.
Royal historian Kelly Swaby told the BBC the statement’s tone was “very brutal,” adding that public fury over Andrew left the monarchy little choice. “Ordinary people don’t care about the semantics, they want to see punishment, and public opinion is very much against Andrew,” she said. “The Palace knows that.”
According to royal insiders, the move follows “serious lapses in Andrew’s judgment” and came with the blessing of the wider family — and the government.
And one future king reportedly pushed hardest.
Jennie Bond, the BBC’s former royal correspondent, said Prince William demanded the axe fall.
“I think this line had to be drawn and William was probably pushing for the King to do so,” she said. With William heading to Brazil for a major tour and the King and Queen’s trip to the Vatican nearly overshadowed by Andrew’s scandals, she added, “that could not be allowed to continue.”
