Brittany Aldean, the wife of chart-topping Country singer Jason Aldean did not mince words when defending herself against accusations from Maren Morris, another Country singer who referred to Aldean as an “insurrection barbie” and attacked her for not supporting gender reassignment surgeries for children.

In August 2022, Brittany Aldean posted a video in which she said she’s grateful to her parents for “not changing my gender when I went through my tomboy phase.” The comments were made in response to Morris, who has frequently attacked the couple over their political beliefs.

“It’s so easy to, like, not be a scumbag human?” Morris replied to the video. “Sell your clip-ins and zip it, Insurrection Barbie.”

Aldean addressed the long-running feud during a recent episode of the “Try That In A Small Town” podcast.

“So she called me that, and then she started to make fun of my business, which at the time was hair extensions,” Brittany said in response to the “insurrection barbie” comment. “But to me, it’s like, once again, going back to the feminist movement, right? Aren’t you supposed to be out peace, love, and all inclusivity and all the things? Like, why are you coming for me like that about my business?”

In a statement to E! News, Aldean denied that her comments were “transphobic” and stood by her objection to gender reassignment surgeries for minors.

“Nothing about anything that was said was [transphobic],” she said. “It was simply children under the age of 18, in my opinion, should not be able to choose their gender, much less have a surgery that is altering their life. Let them make that decision when they’re of age.”

Morris, meanwhile, has stated that she plans on stepping away from the Country Music scene due to “drama” within the community.

“The stories going on within country music right now, I’ve tried to avoid a lot of it at all costs. I feel very, very distanced from it,” Maren told the Los Angeles Times in a recent interview.  “A lot of the drama within the community, I’ve chosen to step outside out of it.”
