Legendary conservative radio host Dennis Prager remains in “serious condition” following a fall several months ago, according to Charlie Kirk.

Kirk, 31, updated his followers on the health of his friend and mentor, one of the last living personalities from the golden era of conservative AM radio. “Today I saw Dennis Prager in the hospital,” he shared. Prager “is fighting very hard. The condition is serious but he is making amazing progress. He is still his joyful self, joking, and full of life. Please continue to pray for Dennis. God has his hand on this amazing man.”

Prager, 76, was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital last month after taking a nasty fall and suffering a “serious back injury,” his founding institution PragerU announced at the time. The conservative school’s social media page added, “He’s resting in a local Los Angeles hospital as doctors assess treatment options. We will keep you informed of his condition. In the meantime, Dennis welcomes the healing power of your prayers.”

Known for his outspoken views on topics ranging from politics to religion, Prager has built a loyal following through decades of radio broadcasting, public speaking, and book authoring. PragerU, the media organization he co-founded in 2009, has become a major force in conservative digital media, offering short, opinion-driven videos on a variety of political and cultural topics.

What precipitated his fall remains unclear. Julie Hartman, co-host of the “Dennis and Julie” podcast, revealed a week after the fall that Prager had entered surgery and faced a “long recovery.” “He entered surgery, and now we are praying for the best possible outcome,” she told listeners on November 17th. “This is a long haul and a long recovery for Dennis,” she said, visibly moved. “That is why I humbly ask you for your prayers.”

Some of the most influential voices in today’s conservative media sphere count Prager as either a mentor or someone who helped shape their belief system from an early age. Eric Metaxas, a Christian podcaster and host of “The Eric Metaxas Show,” asked his listeners to bless Prager. “One of my very dearest and most beloved friends — the national treasure that is Dennis Prager — desperately needs our prayers. PLEASE lift him up before the throne of God’s grace today — and believe God for a miracle,” he wrote on X. Megyn Kelly added, “Prayers up for Dennis Prager.”

Since 1999, Prager has hosted his nationally syndicated talk show alongside some of yesteryear’s biggest names in conservative radio from Rush Limbaugh to Mark Levin and Michael Savage. He is but one of just a few from his generation who remain active on the air; Limbaugh passed away from cancer in 2021, while Savage, 82, retired from broadcasting that same year.
