Earlier it was reported that China called for a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine amid rising tensions and military buildup near the Ukrainian border.

Now it has been revealed that Chinese Presisdent Xi and Ukrainian President Zelenksy are going to meet in person.

China’s statement may indicate its growing involvement in international affairs and its desire to maintain stability in the region. A Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson stated earlier that a peaceful resolution to the conflict is in the interest of all parties and urged both sides to exercise restraint and engage in dialogue.

“China started talking about Ukraine and that’s not bad,” Zelensky said. “It seems to me that there is respect for our territorial integrity, security issues.”

“We need to work with China on this point… Our task is to unite everyone in order to isolate one,” Zelenksy claimed.

Earlier on Friday China had released a 12-point peace plan for resolving the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. The plan called for an immediate ceasefire, diplomatic negotiations, and the establishment of a “security dialogue mechanism” between the two countries.

Additionally, China has urged the international community to support the peace plan and provide humanitarian assistance to those affected by the conflict. The article suggests that China’s involvement in the conflict could be a sign of its growing global influence and desire to maintain stability in the region.

However, it remains to be seen whether Russia and Ukraine will accept the peace plan and how effective it will be in resolving the conflict.

The meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Chinese President Xi Jinping could have several potential impacts, depending on the nature of their discussions and if any agreements are reached.

By meeting with Zelensky, Xi may be signaling China’s support for Ukraine in its ongoing conflict with Russia. This could be seen as a positive development for Ukraine, which has struggled to gain support from some other major world powers at times.

If China’s involvement in Ukraine increases significantly, it could provoke a negative response from Russia, which sees Ukraine as part of its sphere of influence. This could lead to further tensions between China and Russia, which could have broader implications for global politics, however.

They may be able to negotiate opportunities that could benefit both countries. This also means China could become more involved in Ukraine, it could increase its influence in other nearby countries in Eastern Europe. This could potentially challenge the U.S.’s influence in the region and shift the geopolitical balance.

Throughout the war, Putin has called China an ally, saying that “cooperation between the People’s Republic of China and the Russian Federation on the global arena is particularly important for stabilizing the international situation.

However, China has kept their support for Russia as vague as the appear to be navigating how they want to move forward with the conflict.
