Chris Cuomo EXPLODES On Democrats And The Media In Epic Rant: ‘Pay To Play’

Former CNN anchor Chris Cuomo laid bare the harsh realities of political fundraising and media complicity in an explosive DNC rant that’s catching fire across social media. Since his departure from CNN, Cuomo has transformed into a vehement critic of the political status quo. His recent appearance at a Democratic National Convention (DNC) event showcased his disillusionment with what he describes as a bipartisan “pay to play” system dominated by high-stakes financial transactions, a sentiment he expressed with unbridled fervor.

“A big theme here at the DNC is that they’re going to go after corporate gouging,” Cuomo began, his voice charged with a mix of frustration and revelation. “And they’re going to go after corporations, whether it’s in taxes, largesse, loopholes. The RNC, we heard the same thing. They’re going after the elites, the two sets of rules.”

Cuomo pointed to the expensive luxury suites at the convention, which start at a staggering $500,000. “Look at the ring of suites, okay? This is not unique to Democrats. There is a game of money. When people talk about a uniparty, we are strangled by the money reality in our politics,” he explained. “The media boxes, you think they’re free? Why do you think I’m on the floor?” he questioned.

“Those boxes are filled with the same people that they say they’re going to regulate. They are literally looking down on the faithful and being told, yeah, yeah, we’re going to crack down on them. We’re going to make them pay their share. They paid 500, 700, a million, a million and a half to have those seats.”

Cuomo cited the exponential growth in campaign spending over the last two decades. “In 2000 they spent 300 million dollars on presidential campaigns. 24 years later, you know what they’re expected to spend? 10 billion.” Cuomo also pointed out the disparity in the origins of campaign funds, noting that while many contributions come from small donors, a significant portion does not. “The most dangerous money in politics is now legal money because of Citizens United.”

Cuomo marked his comeback to television in 2022, with the premiere of his new show “Cuomo” on NewsNation, following his exit from CNN. During the debut, Cuomo reflected on his experiences since leaving CNN, pledging that his new program would break away from typical partisan commentary.

Wrapping up his tirade, Cuomo implored the audience to remain skeptical of political promises. “So look, look and listen when you are told these things. Because I don’t care what they promise you. Not here tonight, not at the RNC, not that Trump knows them, not that they don’t own them.”

The 2024 DNC held at the United Center in Chicago, saw the nomination of Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate Governor Tim Walz (D-MN). The delegates, voting virtually earlier in August, chose the duo to headline the Democrat ticket for the 2024 presidential race. The nomination followed a series of events where incumbent Joe Biden, after facing minimal opposition in the primaries, endorsed Harris after a pivotal debate in late June and formally withdrew by late July. Harris’s unanimous support among key Democratic figures swiftly positioned her as the frontrunner.
