Comedian Adam Carolla Refuses To Bow The Knee To Leftist Bullying

Comedian Adam Carolla, a man who has established his entire career on freely speaking what he believes to be the truth no matter what consequences might be lobbed his way, recently had a chat with veteran reporter John Stossel, where he took an opportunity to double down on his hilarious mockery of New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, while also shaking off the idea of bowing the knee to demands from liberals to make apologies for the things he says.

We need more comedians like Carolla, Chapelle, and others who are all about freedom of speech and aren’t afraid to crack jokes that will end up getting them “cancelled,” a phrase that, honestly, is pretty meaningless as it essentially stands for getting mean tweets from Internet strangers who have no actual bearing on your personal life.

“You said, ‘If AOC were fat and in her sixties, no one would listen to her,’” Stossel pointed out, referencing a comment Carolla made in February. Carolla stated during an interview on Fox News’ Sean Hannity. “If AOC was fat and in her sixties, would anyone listen to another thing she ever said?”

“Well, that’s the truth. That’s 100% true,” Carolla said in response to the question.  “If she were in her sixties and husky, nobody would listen to a word she ever said, because she sounds like an idiot.”

Boy is he right on the money. But to be fair, AOC doesn’t have to be in her 60s to sound like someone who is intellectually challenged. She’s already well established that is, in fact, what she is.

Here’s more from the Daily Wire report:

Leftists had predictably gone ballistic over Carolla’s comment. “Majority Report’s” Emma Vigeland carped, “It’s very predatory and creepy,” while “Young Turks” host Cenk Uygur sniffed, “He projects his sexism onto others.”

“But what Carolla said is simply true,” opined veteran reporter John Stossel, who interviewed Carolla. “Nobody pays much attention to House freshmen. Ocasio-Cortez is a political celebrity simply because she’s pretty, and also, she speaks without constantly saying ‘uh.’”

“Apologizing just leads to more apologizing,” Carolla told Stossel. “They want you to apologize because they want dominion over you. And once you apologize, they just keep coming back.”

Asserting that he simply didn’t care what leftists thought, Carolla said, “I just happen to be wired not to care, as long as I’m right.”

During the interview, Carolla talked about the criticism he had over how the government originally handled the coronavirus pandemic, going on to say, “They didn’t give the ages of the people who died at the very beginning. I immediately got suspicious because it was a bunch of 90-year-olds.”

He then delivered an epic slam to the radical Left for their absolute refusal to hold a civilized conversation with someone who holds a different set of political values and beliefs than they do.

“When you’re going to a bar, you want to sit next to a guy who’s a Steelers fan, if he’s a Steelers fan. That’s why they have Steelers bars and Patriots bars. But occasionally, and it’s part of your job, you have to invite somebody over from the Patriots bar and have a robust debate on who’s the better team,” Carolla said.

“I believe that they would let the other side speak if they thought they could beat them in a debate. They don’t,” he proclaimed.

Carolla, who is the same man who once told a crowd that the only way the left is going away is if everyone bands together to collectively tell them to “f*** off,” then said, “I think if you’re intellectually honest or I gave you two beers, you would agree with me. … I don’t really have a choice as to what I say. It has to be the truth all the time. I’m a comedian. It’s a sacred oath I took.”

This is why comedy is so important. It’s often a vehicle for delivering truth, brutal truth, in a way that is easier to swallow. Without comedy, life, especially the serious issues, becomes too big, too much to handle. Truth tellers are a breed of individual we desperately need more of in our current society.
