‘Coup Attempt’: Tulsi Gabbard Weighs In On Obama, Russiagate Docs
Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard described the conduct of former President Barack Obama and senior members of his administration as a “coup attempt” when they knowingly launched the bogus “Russian collusion” investigation despite knowing it had no merit from the very beginning.
Earlier this week, Gabbard declassified a memo outlining how members of the intelligence community informed their superiors that Russian efforts to influence the 2016 election had little to no effect. Russian influence efforts — which extended to a collection of Facebook memes that received fewer views than one post from a medium-sized social media account — certainly did not play a role in Hillary Clinton’s loss to President Trump in 2016, something that was explicitly outlined in the memo.
This contradicts testimony from key Obama Administration officials, including CIA Director John Brennan and FBI Director James Comey, both of whom claimed that they had seen evidence to justify an investigation.
The document’s authors told then-President Barack Obama they had concluded “Russian and criminal actors did not impact recent US election results by conducting malicious cyber activities against election infrastructure.” Despite this, intelligence officials green-lit the bogus Russian collusion investigation that severely hampered Trump’s first term.
“The implications of this are frankly nothing short of historic. Over a hundred documents that we released on Friday really detail and provide evidence of how this treasonous conspiracy was directed by President Obama just weeks before he was due to leave office after President Trump had already gotten elected,” Gabbard said during an appearance on Fox News’ Sunday Morning Futures.
“This is not a Democrat or Republican issue. This is an issue that is so serious it should concern every single American because it has to do with the integrity of our democratic republic. What we saw occur here as the documents we released detailed was that we had a sitting President of the United States and his cabinet and leadership team, quite frankly, who were not happy with the fact that President Trump had won the election, that the American people had chosen Donald J. Trump to be the next President, Commander-in-Chief of the United States,” she continued.
“So the effect of what President Obama and his senior national security team did was subvert the will of the American people, undermining our democratic republic, and enacting what would be essentially a years-long coup against President Trump, who was duly elected by the American people.”
On Friday, Gabbard confirmed that she will be referring the documents to the Department of Justice for further review and potential criminal prosecution.
In a Truth Social post Saturday, President Trump suggested that prosecutions of Obama and the key ringleaders in the Russian collusion hoax could soon face criminal prosecution.
