Crist or Christ?: Far-Left DeSantis Challenger Attempts to Paint Himself as Jesus in Ridiculous Speech [WATCH]

Charlie Crist is the man the Democrats in Florida elected as their contender to challenge Governor DeSantis, one of the rising stars in the GOP. Given DeSantis’ popularity and how well Florida has done under his guiding hand, Crist has about a snowball’s chance in hell of winning. Or just a snowball’s chance in a Florida summer. Either way, his run is “just a bunch of malarky, Jack”, as Biden might say.

Regardless, Crist is continuing on with his campaign, presumably hoping for a miracle (or just stroking his own ego) and acting like he has a chance of winning.

Well, maybe he thinks he can make such a miracle occur, as Mr. Crist compared himself to Christ and Governor DeSantis to the devil on the campaign trail during a speech to supporters in Pinellas County, Florida. Watch that here:

As you can hear in the video, Crist, beginning his rant about how horrible Republicans are, started off rambling about the Ukraine and comparing Florida Democrats to the corrupt Eastern European oligarchy (well, maybe he has a point there, just not the one he meant), saying:

And you want to know what the colors are? Look that sign right there. You see the colors, the blue and the yellow. Does that remind you of any country … we’re fighting for freedom too.

Continuing, after insinuating that the Democrats are fighting a war against tyrannical overlords, Crist switched tacts and started uttering all the typical, hollow phrases about “unity”, saying:

free hat

This is an election about decency, about being decent to one another, about being kind to everyone. It’s called a Florida for all.

Predictably, he switched tacts after calling for unity and painted his opponent as the devil and himself as Jesus, saying:

We got a divider on the other side and the uniter over here. You know, some people call him DeSatan. Have you heard that? … I’m trying to be nice. DeSatan versus that? Think about that. Boom.

“The choice is crystal clear. There is no question about it. It is crystal clear. He’s bad. We’re good.

In other words, Crist was comparing himself to Christ, insinuating that he’s fighting against the devil in his race against DeSantis.

Oh, and as if that weren’t divisive enough, particularly coming from the guy who had called for unity and being kind to everyone moments beforehand, it’s not all Crist has done to “divide” Floridians recently. He also told DeSantis voters to just keep voting for him, saying:

Those who support the governor should stay with him and vote for him, and I don’t want your vote!” Crist declared last month. If you have that hate in your heart, keep it there. I want the vote of the people of Florida who care about our state. Good Democrats. Good independents. Good Republicans. Unify with this ticket.

Watch that here:

Given that DeSantis won last time, that might not be the best line to keep repeating. But hey, if it means DeSantis will win again, no one tell Crist his campaign messaging isn’t great.
