NEW: Veteran Conservative Journalist Appointed To Top State Department Job

Darren Beattie, a former speechwriter for President Trump and founder of Revolver News, has been appointed to a top position in the U.S. State Department.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio tapped Beattie to be acting undersecretary of state for public diplomacy. “The Under Secretary for Public Diplomacy leads Department efforts to expand and strengthen the relationships between the people of the United States and citizens of other countries,” reads a job description on the department’s website. “The bureaus and offices reporting to the Under Secretary advance national interests by seeking to engage, inform, and understand the perspectives of foreign audiences.”

If Beattie is to serve in the role in a full-time capacity, he will need to be confirmed by the U.S. Senate.

Beattie confirmed the appointment, which was first reported by Semafor, in a letter posted to Revolver News.

“Over the past four and a half years it has been one of the greatest honors of my life to pour my blood sweat and tears into making Revolver News the news website that I always thought American patriots deserved. I think it is now more than fair to say that pound for pound, Revolver stands as the most cutting-edge, influential, and fearless voice for Americans who want to learn the truth,” Beattie told readers.

The website played a crucial role in exposing numerous inconsistencies with the January 6 pipe bombing incident, including the whereabouts of Vice President Kamala Harris at the time. The alleged pipe bomber has never been identified after years of investigations, despite the fact that FBI agents aggressively hunted Trump supporters for trespassing violations on January 6.

Revolver News also played a major role in exposing former President Biden’s military stand down order in 2021, when U.S. service members were probed for ties to “extremist” organizations and ideologies. Guidance issued by former Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin identified the thin blue line flag, numerous Christian tattoos and even the American flag as signs of potential “extremism.”

Beattie went on to thank President Trump for his decision to pardon more than 1,500 January 6 political prisoners, noting that the president has cited Revolver’s work on numerous occasions .“I have been given the great honor of serving once again in Trump’s administration, this time in the Department of State,” Beattie wrote, adding he was stepping away from Revolver News for the time being.

“Helping Secretary Rubio and my esteemed colleagues in the State Department fulfill President Trump’s agenda will require every ounce of my focus and energy, and accordingly, I will for the time being suspend my direct editorial involvement in Revolver News,” he added.
