Democrat Senate Candidate Mocked Teen’s Suicide Attempt In Sick Post

Maine Democratic Senate candidate Graham Platner is facing fresh scrutiny after newly resurfaced Reddit posts appeared to show him mocking a teenager’s suicide attempt and making crude remarks online.

One post from May 2012 centered on a photo showing a teenage girl hanging from an upper-story window while another student appeared to be trying to pull her to safety.

“A girl at my old high school tried jumping from a window because her cousin died the day before,” the caption read. “These students saved her. I have hope.”

Platner, whose Reddit username was P-Hustle, responded with a comment that critics blasted as callous.

“Someone clearly isn’t trying hard enough,” the account wrote.

The newly unearthed comments are the latest in a string of controversial posts tied to the 41-year-old Democrat, who has also come under fire for online remarks about Hamas, a Purple Heart recipient, and his own sexual habits.

Another resurfaced post from 2021 showed Platner making a joke about pornography performers after a user suggested adult entertainers should be honored like military veterans.

“Thank you for your cervix,” he posted.

Platner’s Kik messaging profile reportedly featured a half-naked photograph of himself.

“Graham Platner is clearly a person with deep and disturbing psychological issues that predate his military service and continue to this day,” Maine State House Minority Leader Billy Bob Faulkingham told The Post.

The Maine Democrat previously drew backlash for a 2017 post in which he described masturbating in portable toilets.

“I still have to jerk off every time I sit in a portashi–er….that blue water smell conditioned me,” the Democrat posted.

Platner also came under scrutiny for remarks made in response to footage posted in 2014 on the Reddit forum r/combatfootage showing Hamas terrorists attacking Israeli soldiers and attempting to abduct one as he screamed for help.

Using the same P-Hustle account, Platner wrote, “Looks like an all around well executed and successful small unit raid to me.”

He also targeted Purple Heart recipient Pfc. Ted Daniels while commenting on well-known helmet camera footage from 2012 showing the American soldier under Taliban attack. Daniels survived despite being shot four times during the battle.

“Dumb motherf–ker didn’t deserve to live. At least his stupidity and fat a– wheezing are available for all future infantrymen to witness and hold in contempt,” Platner wrote in a 2019 thread.

The resurfaced posts have renewed questions about Platner’s online history as he seeks a seat in the U.S. Senate.
