Evidently, DeSantis has had enough of Biden’s shenanigans and does not have it in him to indulge Joe, who has shown no regard for Florida. As Biden has declared Republicans around the nation to be extremists, he has probably decided to have nothing to do with them again, which is why he has refused to contact Florida as the State prepares to be hit by a category 3 hurricane.
It was reported that Biden held separate calls on Tuesday with Jane Castor, the Major of Tampa, Ken Welch, the Mayor of St.Petersburg, and Frank Hibbard, the Mayor of Clearwater. Yet, Biden did not bother to speak with DeSantis, who was preparing the residents of his State for a major hurricane.
This category 3 hurricane being prepared for is getting stronger in the Gulf of Mexico, and if it continues that way, it might become a category 4 hurricane. Moreso, the National Hurricane Center has warned that Ian is a very dangerous hurricane and urged the people of Florida to be cautious and stay safe as the hurricane was not looking peaceful.
DeSantis reacted in a press conference on Tuesday as he said he had much more important things to do than to indulge the president who has chosen to be petty. He noted at the press conference that he has not spoken with almighty Biden. However, he added that speaking with Biden is utterly irrelevant as FEMA has granted the needed pre-landfall request.
DeSantis said, “We feel like we have a good relationship with FEMA. You know, I’m happy to brief the president if he’s interested in hearing what we’re doing in Florida, you know, my view on all this is like you got people’s lives at stake, you got their property at stake, and we don’t have time for pettiness. We got to work together to make sure we’re doing the best job for them.”

A reporter questioned Deanner Criswell, the Administrator of FEMA, asking why Biden has refused to contact DeSantis regarding the issue. The reporter also recalled several other natural disaster cases where Biden has reached out to the governors as he asked what made this situation different.
Criswell dodged the question as she responded, “Yeah, the president is very focused on making sure that the federal family has the right resources available to support this. That is why I contacted the governor right away. And we have a team of my senior leadership that are embedded with the governor to make sure that we’re supporting that.”
She added, “Our focus today is making sure that we have the right measures in place to support the life saving activities that need to happen. Any conversations afterwards, will need to be, we need to see what the damages are.”
