DNC Forced To Launch GoFundMe After Kamala’s Camp Ended Up Millions In Debt
Burdened by debt and shedding staff, the Democratic National Committee has seen its union launch a humiliating effort to cover their expenses via a GoFundMe page with the stated goal of making them whole after never receiving severance for their sudden layoffs.
The DNC, which worked hand in glove with the Harris campaign following her coronation at the party’s August convention, is laying off dozens of workers as both organizations grapple with how to retire upwards of $20 million in debt from the election. “Fox & Friends” reported on a recent speech by Tim Walz to high-ranking Democratic donors where he made an impassioned plea to help cover their overspending on items like flashy podcast sets, armies of consultants, and a top-heavy field staff that failed to help win a single swing state. According to Fox News’s Peter Doocy, some of the DNC staff were given less than a day’s notice before their termination; in response, a union representing DNC staffers has launched a GoFundMe page to help cover unpaid wages that it claims stopped coming in months ago.

“They are at about $16,000 of a $25,000 goal,” Doocy stated. “It doesn’t seem like people who donated a lot of money for months, even just ten, fifteen dollars at a time, those recurring payments that you get the text messages about constantly in an election season, it doesn’t seem like there’s much of an appetite for people to open their wallets.”

Now, “Tim Walz is going to hit up wealthy Democratic donors to ask for some money to help [with] repaying all of the vendors that they still owe and staff members they stopped paying months before they were supposed to. We don’t know yet, because we haven’t seen excerpts, whether he plans to take accountability for what happened in November,” Doocy continued. Meanwhile, “rank-and-file DNC staff are going grassroots with a GoFundMe after being blindsided by saying they were being fired suddenly with no severance.” The organizer of a union representing the DNC staffers said in a statement “we are heartbroken to see our colleagues — who dedicated countless hours to electing Democrats up and down the ballot — depart under these circumstances, and we are furious with DNC leadership with failing to provide severance for those affected.”
The Washington Examiner previously reported on Harris’s historic $1 billion implosion during her 107-day campaign. A who’s who of high-priced consultants, hawking everything from TV ad testing to canvassing smartphone apps, got a piece of the pie, and more than a quarter of a billion dollars was spent hiring thousands of canvassers who failed to deliver much of any results for their efforts. In addition, celebrities including Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, and Oprah Winfrey were paid and budgeted for under the line item “event expenses” which totaled more than $15 million. Winfrey appeared at a Philadelphia town hall with Harris weeks before the election, and her production company received a check for a cool $1 million a few days prior to their joint appearance.
