Don Lemon Humiliated After Getting DUPED At DNC, Accidentally Promoting Conservative Site

Conservative provocateur Matt Walsh pulled a fast one on Don Lemon during his coverage of the Democratic National Convention, and the result was nothing short of hilarious.

Walsh, a contributor to the Daily Wire who has stood out for his videotaped antics triggering liberals and a series of recent mockumentary films, managed to worm his way into the DNC this week where he broke out a man bun and wool sport coat, purporting to be a progressive activist dedicated to exposing Project 2025. The Heritage Foundation-driven initiative has become a lightning rod in the presidential campaign and was highlighted by Vice President Kamala Harris in her acceptance speech. Walsh was well aware that Lemon, who has espoused many liberal opinions since being fired from CNN last year, would take the bait if he enticed him enough.

“We were fortunately able to hand out hundreds of cards at the DNC warning people about the dangers of Project 2025. Check out the site to learn the truth about Trump’s radical agenda,” Walsh wrote on Facebook, including a picture of a business card-style ad for www.Project2025.com, a parody website promoting his recent films. Apparently not many in Chicago that night were keen to actually go to the website but rather assumed they already know the message: Project 2025 is a so-called nefarious intent by Trump and his allies to obliterate cornerstones of the federal government and reshape regulations and courts to their ideologies. True to form, Lemon took the bait, holding up one of Walsh’s cards as he posed and appeared to promote the pseudo-news site.

Despite publicly feuding with X owner Elon Musk, Lemon remains on the platform and shared his thoughts on covering the DNC in a series of posts though failed to address his photograph with a fake website about Project 2025. Instead, he stuck close to Democratic talking points, asking Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) about former President Donald Trump’s fascination with “crowd size” and speculating whether Harris would have Beyónce or Taylor Swift as a special guest. “Here’s what I hear from sources: if it’s going to be anyone, it would be Beyónce, Taylor Swift, and George W. Bush speaking. Those would be the heavy hitters,” he said in a video shortly before the convention kicked off. None of those individuals appeared with Harris.

Since his termination late last year, Lemon has publicly feuded with CNN, his home for more than 17 years. Less than a day after being fired with cause, he wrote that he was “stunned” to learn about the development and claimed that network executives refused to meet with him and explain their reasoning. A CNN spokesperson refuted that claim, saying it was Lemon who refused to sit down with leadership. “Don Lemon’s statement about this morning’s events is inaccurate. He was offered an opportunity to meet with management but instead released a statement on Twitter,” CNN’s public relations account wrote in April of 2023.

Other conservatives managed to obtain press passes and cover the DNC, a relatively surprising development given the partisan makeup of organizers. Jack Posobiec caught up with former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder to ask whether he signed off on Walz despite serious allegations about “stolen valor” concerning his military service, Holder didn’t even pretend to be cordial before popping off. “F*** you!” Holder shouted while walking away. “You know you’re a fool, okay?” Posobiec chased the former Obama cop through the hallways before organizers blocked him from the media row. Another senior organizer later let him in.
