Elon Musk Comments On Working With The White House: ‘I Love President Trump’

President Donald Trump commented on the growing ineffectiveness of mainstream media smears during his highly anticipated side-by-side interview with Elon Musk, which was conducted by Fox News host Sean Hannity on Tuesday night.

Hannity asked the president about his thoughts on a common attack angle deployed by Democrat lawmakers and mainstream media outlets, many of whom have repeatedly referred to Elon as “President Musk.” Both Trump and Musk were dismissive of the smears, stating that it is a poor attempt at driving them apart and ending Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) initiative.

“I used to think they were good at it. They’re actually bad at it. Because if they were good at it I’d never be president because I think nobody in history has ever got more bad publicity than me. I could do the greatest things. I get 98% bad publicity,” Trump said in reference to the mainstream media.

Musk then reiterated that he “loves” President Trump, adding that the working relationship between the two has grown exponentially since the president was inaugurated last month. “I think President Trump is a good man and he’s, ya know…. because the president has been so unfairly attacked in the media, it’s really outrageous,” the Space X founder added.

“And at this point I spent a lot of time with the president and not once have I seen him do something that was mean or cruel or wrong. Not once.”

Musk — who formally endorsed the president’s election campaign after the July 13 attempt on his life in Butler, Pennsylvania — revealed that he planned to endorse Trump anyway. “I didn’t know that,” Trump remarked, at which point Musk reiterated that the assassination attempt merely “sped things up.”

Trump offered similar praise for Musk, describing him as a “good businessman” who has always had his respect. “He did Starlink, he did things that were so advanced and nobody knew what the hell they were. I can tell you in North Carolina they had no communication, they were wiped out,” the president said in reference to Hurricane Helene recovery efforts in North Carolina and Tennessee.

The president also praised Musk’s efforts with SpaceX and the reinvigoration of America’s space program. “No, but and he said you know you can’t we have a rocket program if you’re gonna dump a billion dollars into the ocean every time you fly you have to save it. And he saved it, the first time that I’ve ever seen that done. Now, nobody else can do it. If you look at the US, Russia, or China, they can’t do it. And they won’t be able to do it for a long time. He has the technology. So you learn, I wanted somebody really smart to work with me in terms of the country, a very important aspect.”

Musk has played a prominent role in the early days of the Trump Administration as his world class team seeks to recommend cuts to massive federal spending and help the president decrease the national debt. The initiative has already conducted audits of several agencies, including the IRS, Department of Education and the Department of Defense.

To date, billions of dollars in cuts have been recommended by DOGE, many of which provide little to no benefit to American taxpayers. “$25 million to promote biodiversity, conservation, and promote licit livelihoods by developing socially responsible behavior in the country of Colombia. Well, it’s nice, 25 million to go into Colombia for something that nobody ever heard of. $40 million to improve the social and economic inclusion of sedentary migrants. $40 million. $42 million for Johns Hopkins, great place to research and drive social and behavior change in Uganda. $42 million. What about us? What about social change in our country,” Trump said during a press conference on Tuesday when he took time to list some of DOGE’s most mind boggling findings.
