Florida Senator Rick Scott didn’t mince words during his Friday appearance at CPAC Texas, taking the stage and describing the left-wing radicals in America as the “enemy within” in an epic speech that said what many on the right are thinking but few in the political class are willing to say.
Commenting on that, Senator Scott delved into the life-cycle of empires and how great civilizations generally fall only after they have been hollowed out from the inside, a fact as true of Late Empire Rome and Hellenistic Greece as it now seems of rapidly degenerating America.
Making that point and describing the militant left as the “enemy within,” a comment sure to infuriate the pearl-clutching leftists that called BLM riots “fiery but mostly peaceful” protests, Senator Scott said:
“The militant Left has now taken control of our economy, our culture, and our country. When you turn on the news at night, do you even recognize the country you see? Are you worried for your family? Are you worried for your freedoms?”
“Great nations don’t automatically last forever. A great civilization is not conquered from without until it has first destroyed itself from within. Think about that. Great civilizations that have collapsed or been conquered by a foreign adversary were first hollowed out from the inside.”
Watch Senator Scott here:
Few do recognize the country they now see, particularly thanks to the complete collapse of morality among many segments of the American populace, with political correctness replacing Christian values as the moral compass for many modern Americans.
Continuing, Scott went on to comment on how America could change for the worse as the left’s death grip on all its centers of power intensifies, predicting that “in their new socialist order, everyone will obey and no one will be allowed to complain.”
Senator Scott then turned to citing George Orwell’s dark vision of the future, as where America is headed under the militant left, saying:
“The modern Democratic Left has never read George Orwell. They don’t know they’re making his predictions come true.”
Perhaps the most powerful moment of his speech came toward the end, when Senator Scott claimed that America increasingly looks like it’s ending but that will only happen if the American people stand by and let it happen, saying:
“Is this the beginning of the end of America? It could be. But only if we allow it.”
Senator Scott’s vision is undoubtedly a dark one, particularly because it seems so true.
At a time when inflation is ravaging our economy, moral degeneration is wiping away the Christian values that used to undergird our civilization, and atheist enemies like China are rising, it’s hard to see much other than darkness ahead for America, all thanks to the knocking away of America’s traditional pillars carried out over the past few decades by those “enemies within” that Senator Scott mentioned.
However, as he pointed out, there is a way out: we need to start fighting back, refusing to allow America to collapse into a pit of darkness and cesspool of corrupted spirits.
