BREAKING: Explosion Reported Near Trump Tower In Las Vegas

A Tesla Cybertruck  exploded outside President-elect Trump’s hotel in Las Vegas on New Year’s Day, shocking footage from the scene shows. Officials have since confirmed that at least one person was killed in the explosion while several others were injured.

Shortly before 9 a.m. local time, several videos showing a large cloud of smoke billowing in front of the president-elect’s property emerged on social media. Onlookers  stated that they heard a loud bang in the direction of the building before seeing the smoke.

Additional footage from inside Trump Tower shows a smoldering Cybertruck parked directly outside the building. Several additional bangs and whistles could be heard as the vehicle burned.

Fire alarms could also be heard as onlookers from inside the hotel watched on. It is unclear whether the property has been evacuated as of this report.

According to a report from NBC 3 Las Vegas, firefighters responded to a vehicle fire outside the building around 8:41 a.m. Western Time. The fire was reported on the 2000 block of Fashion Show Drive, near the Fashion Show Mall and Trump International Hotel.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said they were investigating the circumstances of the blaze, which has since been extinguished. Police are advising people to avoid the area as the investigation unfolds.

In a news conference, Clark County Fire Department Deputy Chief Thomas Touchstone announced that at least seven people were injured in the explosion. Two of the victims were transported to an area hospital, while additional victims suffered minor injuries. Firefighters are also working to recover a body from the vehicle.

The cause of the blast remains unclear and is currently being investigated by local law enforcement with assistance from the FBI.

In a statement from the Trump Organization, which was also shared by President-elect Donald Trump’s son Eric Trump on X, the organization acknowledged that “a reported electric vehicle fire occurred in the porte cochère of Trump Las Vegas.”

“The safety and well-being of our guests and staff remain our top priority. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Las Vegas Fire Department and local law enforcement for their swift response and professionalism,” the statement read.
