Family “very disappointed in Joe Biden” after administration seizes six acres of their land

President Joe Biden’s administration is being criticized because they’re still seizing land located near the border of the United States and Mexico. This is land designated to continue border wall construction, despite previously stopping the construction.

This information was gathered by an investigation conducted by Politico and then reported by The Hill.

There was at least six acres of land seized in Hidalgo County, TX, and it’s in connection with a court case that took place during former President Donald Trump’s attempt to build a wall.

The land was taken from the Cavazos family and they’re not very happy about it and show their frustration with Biden’s administration, per report:

“I’m … very, very disappointed in Joe Biden. I thought he was a man of his word but apparently he’s not keeping his word,” Reynaldo Anzaldua Cavazos, a member of the family, told Politico. “He said not one more foot of wall and no land forfeitures. We took him at his word and we want him to keep his word.”

Biden had stopped wall construction and ended funding for the wall, but this land was still seized and the family is upset.

There was supposed to be a review of government resources used for border wall construction, due by March 20, but it’s been delayed.

There are still pending court cases that the Department of Justice stated they will not end.

“DOJ sought continuances in pending cases, including in this case, in which the government had previously filed motions for possession of land on the southwest border in light of President Biden’s proclamation terminating the national emergency at the southern border of the United States and directing ‘a careful review of all resources appropriated or redirected to construct a southern border wall,’” a DOJ official told the outlet.

Biden’s administration is supposed to review the situation and did not express any reason for why their initial review was already delayed.
