Famous Country Music Star Arrested on Drug Charge
Country music artist Darius Rucker was arrested in Tennessee due to a minor drug charge on Thursday. The 57-year-old musician was apprehended in Williamson County, Tennessee, as confirmed by a Public Information Officer from the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office.
Rucker was taken into custody on charges including two instances of minor possession or informal exchange of a controlled substance and a single charge related to breaching the state’s vehicle registration regulations.
He was processed at the Williamson County Jail near 1 p.m. Eastern Time and was released roughly an hour afterward on a bond of $10,500.
Rucker, the well-known musician and former lead vocalist of Hootie & the Blowfish, has had a successful solo career in country music following his time with the band and is known for his philanthropy and contributions to music.
