It should be an easy enough ask to NOT indoctrinate our kids in the alphabet lifestyle, shouldn’t it? It’s fine if your teen decided they are one of the lgbtq community and they congregate with other students that they feel comfortable with, but it is simply NOT ok for drag shows, rallies, burlesque shows and other displays of overt sexuality to be displayed on school grounds. Our tax dollars fund those schools, so it isn’t ok. Those places are for education and learning activity, not indoctrination of our kids into radical ideologies.
Needless to say, when a drag show was held at Ankeny High Schools end of the year meeting in May, some parents weren’t exactly thrilled. The “performance”, put on by the Gay Straight Alliance at the school featured some performers with questionable modes of dress to say the least. One parent planned and waited until the fall to go all in to make a point at a school board meeting. Check this out:
An Iowa mom and activist made a statement at a school board meeting by demanding answers about a drag performance hosted at the school, all while dressed like the drag performer.
Kimberly Reicks, a self-described “accidental activist,” appeared at the Ankeny School Board meeting on Monday night and demanded that the board apologize and pass a resolution “to make sure that this doesn’t happen again on school grounds.”

A very reasonable request made by a concerned parent, but the way in which she made the request not only made her point but has drawn national attention to her message.
Reicks turned heads Monday night by attending the school board meeting dressed in a revealing leotard similar to the one worn by the drag performer to highlight the inappropriateness of the performance.
Reicks stepped back from the podium and removed her jacket and sweatpants to reveal the same outfit worn by the drag performer.
“I want to know: Does this outfit make you turn your head?” she demanded of the board and the audience. “Is this outfit appropriate for anybody here to see?”
“Because if this makes your head turn, if this p—-s you off, then it should. Because this guy walked into our school, wearing exactly the same thing,”
Talk about making a statement! Reicks displayed the same clothing the guy at the drag show wore. If it isn’t appropriate for a board meeting, how is even slightly appropriate for students at an end of the year meeting?
Why can’t adults get the message that parents are fed up with the indoctrination of our kids? This type of behavior might be normalized in far-left places like New York and California, but it just doesn’t play well in Americas heartland.
Turning back to the board, Reicks said she was “embarrassed to stand here with the outfit I have today. I want to prove that this outfit should not ever be accepted in our school any way.”
We need more parents like this, and more brave people willing to stand up to the system and to tell other adults that it’s NOT ok to sexualize our kids. It’s hard enough being a kid without pervy adults spreading their wild ideas and doing inappropriate performances in front of our kids. If you want to be gay fine, but let kids figure out who they are on their own, without the help of adults with questionable motives.
