Former Fox Business Producer Jennifer Eckhart’s Cause Of Death Confirmed

Former Fox Business producer and podcast host Jennifer Eckhart died by suicide at her Florida home, authorities have confirmed. She was 36 years old.

Eckhart was found dead inside her residence in Martin County on Saturday morning, September 19. The Martin County Sheriff’s Office subsequently classified her death as a suicide.

Officials have not released further information about the circumstances surrounding her death. The confirmation came after news of Eckhart’s passing began circulating Monday.

Eckhart worked at Fox Business Network for seven years as an associate producer. Her broadcasting career also included work connected to Fox News and Fox Nation, as well as earlier positions with ESPN Radio and a PBS affiliate in Florida.

She became the subject of national coverage in 2020 after filing a lawsuit against former Fox News anchor Ed Henry. Eckhart accused Henry of rape and other sexual misconduct. Henry denied the accusations and maintained that their relationship had been consensual.

Fox News fired Henry in July 2020 after the network received a complaint involving alleged sexual misconduct and commissioned an outside investigation. Eckhart filed her lawsuit several weeks later, naming both Henry and Fox News as defendants.

A federal judge dismissed Fox News from the case in March 2025. Eckhart and Henry later reached a settlement resolving the remaining claims in June 2025, ending a legal battle that had lasted approximately five years. The terms of the agreement were not made public.

Eckhart subsequently spoke about the toll the prolonged court proceedings had taken on her. She also said the settlement renewed her commitment to assisting other people who had survived traumatic experiences.

That work became a central part of the next stage of her career.

Eckhart operated The Reinvented Project, a nonprofit organization focused on supporting trauma survivors through animal-assisted therapy. The organization grew out of her effort to transform her experiences into a source of assistance for others.

She also hosted “REINVENTED with Jen Eckhart,” a podcast built around conversations about resilience, personal hardship and rebuilding. Guests from entertainment, sports, politics and other fields appeared on the program to discuss challenges they had faced in their own lives.

In addition to hosting the show, Eckhart remained active on social media and continued promoting her advocacy projects. Her final Instagram post was published June 1.

In that post, Eckhart expressed happiness about returning to the platform and indicated that she had new projects she hoped to announce. It would become her final public message before her death.

She was remembered for using her public platform to discuss recovery and provide others with an opportunity to share their experiences. The Martin County Sheriff’s Office has not announced any additional findings connected to its investigation.
