Fox News Viewers Outraged After Hosts Attack JD Vance

Fox & Friends hosts Brian Kilmeade and Lawrence Jones raised eyebrows among President Donald Trump’s supporters when they attacked Vice President JD Vance for refusing to endorse Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s re-election bid.

While speaking with veteran reporter Mark Halperin, Vance declined to endorse Netanyahu’s re-election bid just a day after President Donald Trump chose to back him. “The president has the most effective endorsement in American or international political history. I endorse American candidates, and that’s where I’m focused on in the midterms. So I’m not getting involved in Israeli elections,” the vice president told Halperin aboard Air Force Two.

“I’m not anti-endorsing him. I’m not pro-endorsing him. I’m not getting involved in Israeli elections,” he added when pressed further.

On Fox & Friends, co-hosts Brian Kilmeade and Lawrence Jones addressed Vance’s refusal to endorse a foreign leader as an “unforced error” that could cost him. “He went out of his way to say, even though the president endorsed Bibi Netanyahu, I am not… That’s interesting, because the rap on him is he seems to be a little bit anti-Israel,” Kilmeade said.

Jones then interjected to describe the comments as an “unforced error” for the vice president. “There’s no reason to say that,” he added.

Kilmeade went on to note that Vance previously campaigned for Hungary’s Viktor Orban prior to the midterm elections cycle. “Because you know who he did vote for? He went to campaign for Viktor Orban in Hungary, so you can’t say, I don’t worry about other people’s elections,” Kilmeade added.

“Viktor Orban in Hungary, who lost. Disappointed,” Jones then responded.

POLL: Would JD Vance Make A Good President?

The zeal with which the Fox News hosts attacked Vance for refusing to endorse the leader of a foreign country raised eyebrows among a number of prominent Trump supporters. “JD Vance is now being labeled anti-Israel, that he committed an ‘unforced error,’ and they’re ‘disappointed’ he didn’t endorse Bibi Netanyahu,” said conservative commentator Jack Posobiec.

“‘It’s your duty as the Vice President of the United States to support a foreign leader,'” The Blaze contributor Auron Macintyre posted on X. “So obvious what is being done here.”

Public polling indicates limited support for Netanyahu among Americans. A Pew Research Center survey conducted from March 23-29 of this year, found that 27 percent of U.S. adults expressed a lot or some confidence in Netanyahu to do the right thing regarding world affairs, while 59 percent expressed little or no confidence.

Among Republicans and Republican-leaning independents, views were mixed, with 45 percent reporting confidence and 44 percent reporting little or none. Among Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents, 76 percent lacked confidence, including 52 percent who reported no confidence at all.
