Fox Settles Lawsuit With Former Tucker Carlson Producer For $12 Million

Fox Corporation has agreed to pay $12 million to settle a lawsuit with former producer Abby Grossberg, who claimed the network fostered a hostile and discriminatory work environment for women.

In the lawsuit filed by Grossberg this past March, she claimed that she was subjected to directory comments while working in the Fox News office in New York.

Grossberg previously worked as head of booking for Tucker Carlson from July 2022 through March 2023, though her attorneys admitted that she never met him personally. “Like many on the staff, Abby never met Tucker Carlson in person because he taped the show from his personal studios in Maine and Florida, and he did not visit Fox’s NY HQ during her time there,” one of the attorneys representing Grossberg stated.

Still, she claimed that the former top-rated cable news host fostered a “toxic work dynamic” that had “severely” impacted her mental health. She also reportedly kept what amounted to an “oppo file” on Carlson that included over 36 hours of audio recordings. The lawsuit even referenced segments on Carlson’s show, including one in which he questioned the use of “maternity flight suits.”

Grossberg was fired after filing the lawsuit in March. Fox Corporation vehemently denied the allegations and said the lawsuit was “riddled with false allegations against Fox and our employees.”

After news of the settlement broke Friday, a company spokesperson said they were pleased to resolve the matter outside of court. “We are pleased that we have been able to resolve this matter without further litigation,” a Fox News spokesperson said in a statement.

Grossberg said that she is hopeful that the settlement “represents a positive step by the Network regarding its treatment of women and minorities in the workplace,” according to a report from the Epoch Times.

“While I stand by my publicly filed claims and allegations, in light of today’s settlement of $12 million, pursuant to which I have now withdrawn those claims, I am heartened that Fox News has taken me and my legal claims seriously,” Grossberg added.
