Germany Calls for Investigation Into Joe Biden Over Nord Stream Sabotage
A German political party is calling for the removal of U.S. troops from Germany following accusations that the U.S. was involved in the destruction of the Nord Stream pipeline.
The Alternative for Germany (AfD) party is demanding an investigation into the claims made by investigative journalist Seymour Hersh, and if the allegations are true, they want the U.S. military to leave the country.
The AfD Co-chairman Tino Chrupalla said, “As the American investigative journalist Seymour Hersh claims to have learned from a source involved in the operational planning, the United States of America is said to have planned the demolition of Nord Stream and carried it out jointly with Norway.”
“The Pulitzer Prize winner’s suspicions must be investigated,” Chrupalla continued.
“Has NATO’s leading power carried out an attack on our country’s vital critical infrastructure in European waters? Then one would have to question whether the alliance guarantees security in Europe or rather endangers it. The consequence would be the withdrawal of all U.S. troops.”
According to Hersh’s report, there were discussions and disagreements among different branches of the U.S. government, including Biden’s White House, State Department, Armed Forces, and intelligence community. Officials raised concerns about the potential disastrous outcomes that could arise if the U.S. were discovered to have played a role in sabotaging the Nord Stream pipeline.
“All the open questions must now be answered by investigative committees,” Chrupalla hammered. “The Bundestag has a right to know what knowledge the federal government has. Could government officials have been privy to the planning of the attack?”
“All the findings of national authorities must flow together in the European Parliament. The European states must not put up with such violent interference. They are even less allowed to participate in it.”
German politicians have been skeptical of the U.S.’s involvement ever since the pipeline was destroyed.
Sevim Dagdelen, of the Left Party (LP), said there are “ample reasons” why the U.S. might be motivated to destroy it, alluding to the pipeline’s importance to Russia.
Investigative journalist Seymour Hersh has published an article detailing how the United States may have been involved in the destruction of the Nord Stream pipeline, a natural gas pipeline that runs from Russia to Germany. Hersh’s report suggested that the U.S. government was concerned about Germany’s increasing reliance on Russian gas, and that U.S. officials may have deliberately blown up the pipeline as a way to disrupt the energy supply and weaken Russia’s economy.
Hersh’s report highlighted the internal debate within the U.S. government about the potential consequences of sabotaging the pipeline, with some officials warning of the risks of being caught and the potentially catastrophic effects on the global economy.
The article also explored the role of Ukrainian officials in the alleged sabotage, and the motivations behind their involvement. Hersh’s report raises questions about the ethics and legality of the U.S. government’s actions, and the impact on the relationship between the U.S. and its allies in Europe.
