‘Ghostbusters’ Star Passes Away At 65

Jennifer Runyon, an actress known for roles in “Ghostbusters” and the sitcom “Charles in Charge,” has died. She was 65.

Her family confirmed her death in a Facebook post, saying she died Friday after a battle with cancer.

“This past Friday night our beloved Jennifer passed away. It was a long and arduous journey that ended with her surrounded by her family,” they wrote, according to TMZ.

Her family said she would “always be remembered for her love of life and her devotion to her family and friends.”

A representative for Runyon told Us Weekly that she “passed away after a six-month battle with cancer.”

Runyon began acting in 1980 with her film debut in the horror movie “To All a Goodnight.” She went on to build a steady career with roles in films including “The Falcon and the Snowman,” “Up the Creek” and “The In Crowd.”

She was also a familiar face on television. Runyon had a leading role as Gwendolyn Pierce on “Charles in Charge” and appeared on the soap opera “Another World.” Her TV credits also included “Quantum Leap,” “Murder, She Wrote,” “Beverly Hills, 90210” and “A Man Called Sarge.”

Runyon married Todd Corman in 1991. She is survived by her husband and their children, Wyatt and Bayley.

Bayley Corman, who is also an actress and has appeared on “9-1-1,” posted a tribute to her mother on Instagram with photos spanning years of family memories.

“All of the best parts of me came from you. i would give anything for one more day together,” she wrote.

She described Runyon as “the kindest most compassionate person I’ve ever known. my best friend. i wasn’t ready for this.”

Actress Erin Murphy, known for “Bewitched,” also shared the news on Instagram.

“So sad to share that my friend Jennifer Runyon Corman has passed away after a brief battle with cancer. 💔”

“Some people you just know you’ll be friends with before you even meet. She was a special lady. I’ll miss you Jenn. My thoughts are with your family and beautiful children,” she wrote.
