GOP Senator Hints He Might Be Trump’s Running Mate

In an interview with Newsmax’s Eric Bolling, Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) did not hold back on the upcoming presidential debates and the current political landscape. The Senator offered his insights for this fall, all while leaving a tantalizing possibility hanging in the air regarding his political future.

This week’s discussion took a speculative turn when Bolling broached the subject of the vice-presidential debate.  “Senator, I would love to moderate a debate with you, but I have a hunch that there might be a vice presidential debate,” said Bolling. “Maybe Kamala Harris will be debating Senator Tim Scott on that one, and I would be honored to moderate that one.”

“If you’re the guy moderating, maybe I’ll be talking to you,” said Scott. “We’ll see what happens… but we need a new president. And that’s Donald Trump.”

“And a new vice president, and is it you?” Bolling followed up.

“We’ll have to wait and see,” finished Scott. The subtle hint, paired with his vocal support for Trump’s candidacy stirred speculations about his potential vice-presidential candidacy.

Trump has indicated a strong possibility of revealing his vice presidential pick at the Republican National Convention in July. In a Thursday interview with Scripps News, Charles Benson asked, “What are the chances you will announce your vice president pick while in Milwaukee, at the convention?”

Trump said, “That’s probably a pretty good chance, I would say. I don’t say anything’s 100 percent, but you’re getting pretty close. I’ll be doing it in Milwaukee — we’re going to have a great time.”

Trump’s list of potential running mates has reportedly narrowed to four key figures: Governor Doug Burgum (R-ND), Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), Senator J.D. Vance (R-OH), and Senator Tim Scott (R-SC). Trump has indicated that he speaks regularly with all the contenders, suggesting a robust behind-the-scenes dialogue about the future direction of the party and the country.

The potential pairing of Scott and Trump for a future presidential ticket would bring together Scott’s appeal as a unifying figure within the party and Trump’s base mobilization capabilities. The combination could aim to blend Trump’s assertive leadership style and Scott’s more measured and inclusive approach, potentially broadening their appeal across different voter demographics within the Republican base and beyond.

After discovering that North Dakota Governor Kristi Noem (R-ND) detailed an incident involving the killing of a puppy in her memoir, her prospects for the 2024 elections seem compromised. A source familiar with Trump’s circle commented, “She was already unlikely to be picked as VP, but had a shot. After this, it’s just impossible.” In her book, Noem reflected on the harsh realities of rural life, recounting the difficult decision to kill a 14-month-old wire-haired pointer named Cricket after it killed a neighbor’s chicken, citing the dog’s “aggressive personality” and labeling it as “untrainable” for hunting.

Earlier this week, Trump delivered a statement via Truth Social reading: “Nikki Haley is not under consideration for the V.P. slot, but I wish her well! DJT.”

The Republican National Committee is scheduled to host this year’s GOP convention in Milwaukee in mid-July.
