Fox News host Greg Gutfeld shocked viewers of his late-night program with surprising family news that caused hundreds of his online fans to celebrate.

For the first time in his life, Gutfeld, 60, will become a father. However, he was not there to break the news, and in his stead was a colleague filling in his audience about his recent absence. “America has been wondering where Greg has been. Well, the mystery’s been solved. If you saw ‘The Five’ earlier today, you know he’s the proud dad of a beautiful baby girl,” announced Kat Timpf, eliciting enthusiastic applause from the studio audience. Although out of pocket, Gutfeld did not put his viewers out of mind, leaving Timpf a personal statement announcing the news in his own words.

“It is with great joy that my wife, Elena, and I, have welcomed a baby girl into the world. Mira is healthy with a real set of lungs. She has Elena’s beautiful eyes and my rock-hard abs. We are hard at work teaching her three languages and putting her through a rigorous workout routine,” he joked, as read off by Timpf. “She’s already very observant, and has asked if Jesse wears a toupee. I told her that he definitely wears a wig.”

“As you can understand, we value our privacy. We thank everyone for their good wishes. And now I have to go stop Gus from licking her face.”

The Tuesday night panel of guests media agreed Gutfeld picked the “best time” to have his first kid. “Think about it. He’s financially set. You know, he values his time he’s got left,” one guest said as the audience laughed along, “He’s not gonna miss the first steps. He can afford to be home for that. He can afford to make it to all the baseball games… it’s a great time to be a dad.”

Gutfeld married his wife Elena Mousa in 2004 and three years later landed his first gig at Fox, hosting the “Red Eye” program during the 2 a.m. slot. His devil-may-care attitude carried the show’s ratings to new heights despite the late hour, eventually bringing it to the 11 p.m. slot before he was invited to join “The Five” in 2011. He earned his own show outright in 2015, and in 2021, he helped launch “Gutfeld!” weeknights at 11 p.m., quickly overtaking in the ratings more established late-night programs like “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

In between being a dad, Gutfeld will also have the ear of President-elect Donald Trump over the next four years. He was the first to receive Trump’s reaction to Vice President Kamala Harris’s speech at the Democratic National Convention, listening as Trump called in to pan arris’s promises to institute price controls. “Hey Mr. President, I’m live now! Say hello to my audience,” Gutfeld said as the studio roared. “So don’t say anything that’ll get you in trouble!” The two wished each other well before Gutfeld said goodbye to “Mr. P”.
