‘Home Alone’ Star Hospitalized In Critical Condition
‘Home Alone’ star Devin Ratray was reportedly hospitalized in “critical condition,” leading to a delay in his domestic violence trial. Ratray is best known for portraying Buzz McCallister, the mean-spirited older brother of main character Kevin McCallister, who was famously played by Macaulay Culkin.
On Monday, an unnamed relative told TMZ that the actor has since been discharged from the hospital. The source noted that Ratray, 47, is “back home resting on doctor’s orders.”
They did not elaborate as to the cause of the hospitalization, or when the reported health scare occurred. Ratray’s attorney, Scott Adams, later revealed that the actor was hospitalized for heart issues and was administered to an intensive care unit.

Jury selection was set to begin in Ratray’s Oklahoma domestic violence trial was set to begin on Monday, though it has been pushed back following the medical emergency. In December 2021, Ratray was accused of strangling his then-girlfriend in a hotel room. He has also been accused of punching her in the face as she attempted to flee.
In a court affidavit, an Oklahoma City police detective reported that “while [Ratray was] strangling the victim, [he] stated the following: ‘This is how you die’.”
District Judge Kathryn Savage opted to delay the trial due to Ratray’s hospitalization, resetting it for pretrial next month.
According to reports, the couple was in Oklahoma City for an event that Ratray did not want to attend, though he needed the money and opted to go anyway. “Devin … doesn’t want to be known for something he did 30 years ago,” she testified in court,” Ratray’s former girlfriend testified in court. “It was (a) point of contention for him his whole life and it’s something that I dealt with a lot when we were dating and that’s why he’d never done these cons before because he didn’t want to promote that he was in ‘Home Alone.'”
“He was annoyed to be there and be seen as ‘Buzz’ anyway,” she continued.
The affidavit further alleges that Ratray had been drinking heavily prior to the alleged assault. The former girlfriend also testified that she feared for her life.
