JUST IN: Ilhan Omar Embroiled In Scandal After Her Stunning Net Worth Is Revealed
“Squad” Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (D-MN) has denounced any claim that elected office has made her wealthy as “categorically false.” However, new financial filings tell a different story.
In just one year, Omar’s net worth has skyrocketed by as much as 3,500%, just months after the Minnesota Democrat asserted that it was “ridiculous” to report that she was enriching herself while in office. The disclosure was made in financial filings covering the various cash positions of Omar and her husband, former political consultant Tim Mynett, at the end of 2024.
In the documents, Omar checked the box indicating that the couple’s net worth sits somewhere between $6 million and $30 million. Most of that wealth comes from the value of Myrnett’s two companies, which were reportedly worth just $51,000 at the end of 2023.
Lawmakers are required each year to disclose the value of all holdings and debts within certain ranges. Regardless of which side of the spectrum Omar falls on, it represents a significant increase since she first took office in 2019.
News of her fabulous new wealth could create headaches for Omar, a progressive who has campaigned against the rich while positioning herself as an emblem of working-class Americans. In March, she ridiculed a Business Insider story about her net worth, saying she had been subjected to a “coordinated right-wing disinformation campaign” that alleged she is a multimillionaire.
One month earlier, Omar on social media challenged her critics to “maybe try checking my public financial statements and you will see I barely have thousands let alone millions.”

But thanks to Mynett’s California-based winery eStCru LLC and venture capital firm Rose Lake Capital, the couple achieved record returns in 2024. Myrnett’s combined stake in both companies was worth no more than $51,000, and his firms had less than $700 across all their bank accounts the prior year, according to the Washington Free Beacon.
Concurrently, Myrnett and his business partner, DNC adviser Will Hailer, were the targets of lawsuits by former clients alleging they had been bilked out of millions of dollars.
Omar married Myrnett in 2020, her second marriage after insiders say she divorced her biological brother. The pair began an affair while they were both married, and Myrnett was later paid $2.9 million for advising Omar’s reelection campaign.
The arrangement drew remarkable scrutiny on the couple’s finances, and Myrnett eventually exited the political consulting business to pursue his winery and venture capital endeavors.
Omar’s disclosure values the winery somewhere between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000.
Even more dramatic was the expansion of Rose Lake Capital, LLC, which settled at a value between $5,000,000 and $25,000,000 by the end of 2024. Rose Lake claims to have $60 million under management, according to the NY Post.
