Ilhan Omar ROASTED After Advocating For Hair Discrimination Ban

Representative Ilhan Omar (D-MN) is stoking controversy with her vocal support for the CROWN Act, an act aimed to ban “race-based hair discrimination” at the federal level—a move mirroring efforts in liberal state across the the country.

“It’s long past time we end race-based hair discrimination,” Omar wrote on X while throwing her weight behind the legislation. “Minnesota got this done. I was proud to co-lead the CROWN Act to do the same at the federal level.💪🏽”

The CROWN Act, which stands for “Creating a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair,” is legislation that aims to prevent discrimination based on hair texture and protective hairstyles historically associated with race. This includes hairstyles like braids, locs, twists, and knots. The act was first introduced in California in 2019

However, many believe the measure sidetracks attention from actual national issues. Leading the charge against Omar’s advocacy, one user lambasted her tweet as “the dumbest f***ing post on all of X today.”

“Since when is hair racist?” another user asked. “Lady you turn everything into a racism argument. What rights does your hair have that other type of hairs do? Hypocrite”

Omar is currently battling a potential second censure resolution in Congress following remarks she made about the college campus protests, which have been criticized as anti-Semitic.
