The news of his baptism and subsequent declaration of faith has resonated with many. Fans and followers have shown an overwhelming response.

In December the 70-year-old Georgia native bowed down before God, receiving his baptism and posting a video of the ceremony that garnered nearly four million views in less than 24 hours.

“Total surrender and dedication to Jesus is the greatest day of my life. No worries, no hate, no judgment… only love!” wrote Hogan on X, also posting video of the baptism of his new wife Sky Daily.

Hogan rose to fame in the 1980s when professional wrestling was at the height of popularity. Sporting his trademark horseshoe mustache, Hogan, whose real name is Terry Gene Bollea, became an iconic symbol of American strength during the late years of the Cold War, appearing on Sports Illustrated, TV Guide, and People Magazine on multiple occasions.

He ventured into television as well, guest hosting an episode of Saturday Night Live in 1985 and appearing on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, forays into Hollywood which predated the movie star success of later wrestling legends like John Cena and The Rock.

While announcing his retirement on The Tonight Show, Hogan pulled a fast one and jokingly announced his candidacy for President of the United States. Although a humorous aside at the time, he was just several years ahead of another colleague named Jesse Ventura who went on to win the governorship of Minnesota.
