Jamie Raskin HUMILIATED After Mid-Speech Teleprompter Glitch Leaves Him Frozen

The Democratic National Convention got off to a tumultuous start in Chicago on Monday night, with Congressman Jamie Raskin (D-MD) freezing mid-speech while tech support worked desperately behind the scenes to un-freeze the teleprompter.

The Maryland Democrat was a warmup act during the first night’s festivities, which concluded with a farewell speech by President Joe Biden and a surprise appearance by his successor on the ticket, Vice President Kamala Harris. Rep. Raskin was in the middle of accusing former President Donald Trump of failing to execute the duties of the office when the glitch occurred. “Someone should have told Donald Trump that the President’s job under Article two of the Constitution…” Raskin began before holding up his finger for an extended pause. He held on for a few more seconds – which may have felt like an eternity – and jumpstarted his original line once the teleprompter was fixed. “Someone should have told Donald Trump that the president’s job under Article two of the Constitution is to take care that the laws are faithfully executed.”

Despite a near-fatal assassination attempt against President Trump last week, Raskin didn’t hold back from joking that J6 rioters attempted to kill former Vice President Mike Pence. “JD Vance, do you understand why there was a sudden job opening for running mate on the GOP ticket? They tried to kill your predecessor!” he screamed to laughter from the audience. Turning Point USA’s Graham Allen captured the moment, calling it “absolutely disgusting.”

Commentators on X were quick to remind the warmup man that the real attempted murderer was Thomas Crooks, the deranged 20-year-old gunman who fired multiple rifle rounds at President Trump before being shot and killed by counter-snipers. “Nobody tried to kill Pence. Someone did try to kill Trump though and succeeded in killing a bystander,” replied user Michelle Whitzel. Others reminded Raskin that he’s not as charming as he may think of himself in front of the bathroom mirror. “You’re not slick AND you froze in front of everyone tonight. Amateur hour was alive & well with you there,” another shot back at him.

Vice President Harris will address the convention on Thursday as she is officially nominated to take on President Trump. Despite the bonhomie of the party’s convention, all is not well under the progressive tent. Anti-Israel rioters outside the Chicago stadium managed to breach security gates and attack officers before being handcuffed while thousands more accused President Biden of complicity in “genocide” against Palestinians. “Biden you can’t hide. We charge you with genocide” was one of the chants overheard by Politico ringing out during the early hours of the convention. Security personnel told the outlet that President Biden was touring the facility at the time and the breach did not pose a major security risk.

President Trump ripped his new opponent on social media Monday night after she declined to join him for a September 4th debate hosted by Fox News. “I am not surprised by this development because I feel that she knows it is very difficult, at best, for her to defend her record setting Flip-Flopping on absolutely everything she once believed in, including her statements that THERE WILL BE NO FRACKING IN PENNSYLVANIA and her HORRIBLE Performance on the Border,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. In place of a Fox News debate, President Trump said he would participate in a town hall hosted by anchor Sean Hannity.
