Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett (D-TX), still reeling from her recent run-ins with the media, stepped in it again when she inadvertently criticized former Vice President Kamala Harris and fellow “Squad” members while taking a swipe at a Republican colleague.

Appearing on “The Breakfast Club,” a morning talk show with a strong African-American following, Crockett took aim at fellow black Congressman Byron Donalds (R-FL) for marrying a white woman.

“If we continue to put into office skinfolk, who are definitely not our kinfolk, such as Byron Donalds, who are going to continue to say… the fact that you was sitting around talking about life was better under Jim Crow? Like, is this because you don’t understand history?” the Democrat says in a viral clip circulating on X.

“Or literally it’s because you married a white woman, so you think that whitewash you?” she quips.

When host Charlamagne tha God notes that Donalds “couldn’t even be married to a white woman under Jim Crow,” Crockett yells out, “Correct!”

“It’s a joy to call him out,” she continues. “It’s like they give him his talking points, and he’s like, ‘Yes massa, I got it.'”

Crockett’s incendiary rhetoric is sure to cause heartburn for Democrats eager to keep the focus on Trump one week after Signalgate. To make matters worse, the Texas congresswoman accidentally criticized Harris, whose husband Doug Emhoff is white, as well as fellow “Squad” members Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), and Summer Lee (D-PA).

A Crockett critic showed some of the interracial couples above the video of Crockett’s remarks, also including Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson and her white husband.

Crockett was a co-chair of the 2024 Harris-Walz campaign and is a member of the Democratic Congressional Progressive Caucus. She has been the unwelcome face of Democratic intransigence in recent weeks, drawing criticism for referring to her state’s Republican governor as “Hot Wheels” because he uses a wheelchair.

Although she issued a halfhearted statement one day later, she did not apologize for the comment.

Earlier in the week, she appeared to assault a conservative journalist after the young man asked whether she condoned the nationwide acts of vandalism against Tesla cars and dealerships.

Crockett, first elected in 2022, has also drawn criticism on the right for leaning into the narrative that she did not have a privileged childhood growing up. She is the daughter of a wealthy Texas pastor and contractor, and a video of her speaking without an ebonics accent has surfaced following her newfound fame.
