JD Vance Makes Heartwarming Gesture For His Young Son On Senate Floor

Ohio Senator JD Vance turned the usually staid Senate floor into a story-time sanctuary, offering a tribute to his young son amidst a critical filibuster against a controversial $95.3 billion national security supplemental.

Vance chose to punctuate his opposition not with the standard fare of political rhetoric but by reading aloud from the cherished tomes of Dr. Seuss.

“I want to move on to another argument, but before I do, I am mindful of something that’s very close to my heart,” Vance started. “Personally, I have three beautiful children.”

“And I’m sorry, Vivek, that I can’t be with you for your birthday dinner, but I want you to know that Daddy loves you very much. And I’m going to read this into the record, because maybe you can watch it at home. ‘Oh, The Places You’ll Go’ by Dr. Seuss.”

The bill, earmarked for foreign aid including substantial allocations for Israel and Ukraine, faced spirited opposition from a coalition of conservative senators, determined to voice their concerns over U.S. border security and fiscal prudence.

Led by a trio of Senators Rand Paul (R-KY), Mike Lee (R-UT), and JD Vance (R-OH), the talking filibuster began at high noon, a concerted effort to draw attention to what they see as the egregious misallocation of taxpayer dollars in favor of endless overseas engagements.
