Jen Psaki Embroiled In New Controversy After Assault On Conservative Journalist

Jen Psaki is under fire after a conservative reporter was assaulted at an anti-ICE protest in Minneapolis, and critics say the former White House press secretary turned MSNBC host still hasn’t condemned what happened.

The victim, Turning Point USA contributor Savannah Hernandez, said she was attacked outside the Whipple ICE facility, also known as the Whipple Federal Building, while filming B-roll from a public street.

“I was just brutally assaulted by multiple people outside of the Whipple ICE facility in Minneapolis. Multiple people swung on me and a grown man pushed me to the ground,” Hernandez posted on X. “My glasses are broken. ANTIFA still alive and well. I’m talking with police about pressing charges.”

Video from the scene shows Hernandez being confronted by protesters and then shoved to the ground from behind. Hernandez said she was targeted simply for documenting the demonstration.

“All of this because I was standing outside on a public street filming a protest in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.”

The FBI has since launched a criminal investigation into the assault, Hernandez’s supporters say, adding that federal officials are taking the attack seriously. Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon replied “On it.” to one of Hernandez’s posts, which many interpreted as a signal the Justice Department is involved.

But the political heat is now shifting toward Psaki.

Conservatives online have circulated claims linking the incident to “Minnesota Angry Man” Chris Ostroushko, who previously appeared on Psaki’s show. They argue that Psaki helped elevate an activist who, they say, was tied to the mob that went after Hernandez. The backlash has intensified because Psaki, at least publicly, has not condemned the assault.

“Jen Psaki loved “Minnesota Angry Man” Chris Ostroushko so much, she invited him on her show to spread his message.

Yesterday, he shoved Savannah Hernandez from behind, slamming her to the ground.

Psaki still hasn’t condemned the assault.

Her silence is deafening”

That silence is the point, critics say. They argue Democrats and their media allies have spent years warning about “threats to democracy,” only to go quiet when a conservative journalist is attacked in broad daylight. To them, it’s another example of a double standard: political violence and intimidation are treated as outrageous when the target is on the left, but brushed aside when the victim is on the right.

Hernandez also identified another agitator she says helped incite the crowd.

“This is the guy, William Scott Kelly, who incited the mob against me today. He identified me as I stood at the fence taking BROLL of the ICE facility at today’s protest. Apparently he’s the same guy who was arrested storming the church in Minneapolis back in January of this year,” she wrote.

Local authorities indicated state charges could follow. Hernandez posted video showing one person she identified as Paige Ostroushko being arrested not long after the assault.
