Jen Psaki Gets Roasted After Making Ridiculous Comment Downplaying Democrats’ Abortion Policies
Jen Psaki, former press secretary for the Biden White House, received an outpouring of criticism over a recent post claiming that President Joe Biden and other Democratic Party leaders do not support abortion up until the moment of birth.
Psaki was responding to Wednesday’s GOP debate where Republicans on stage, including former Vice President Mike Pence and South Carolina Senator Tim Scott (R-SC), voiced support for a national 15-week abortion ban and criticized Democrats for failing to endorse any restriction whatsoever on the practice.
“This is false,” stated conservative commentator Stephen Miller on X.

Another woman responding to Psaki’s tweet said Democrats should “get with the rest of the civilized world” by voicing support for limits on late-term abortions.
Untrue. Many Democrats do and you scream if anyone in the U.S. wants to ban late-term abortion and get with the rest of the civilized world with abortion limits.

John Hasson of Town Hall pointed out that Democrats last year voted to enshrine Roe v. Wade into federal law upon news that the Supreme Court was likely to strike down the five-decade court ruling guaranteeing women access to some form of abortion across the nation. Republicans claim the bill as written would have allowed abortion up until the point of birth.
46 Democrat Senators voted for it on Feb. 28, 2022 https://t.co/jPHDGCu1vT

Every single Democrat in the U.S. Senate (but one) voted for a bill that would allow abortion…
any time, for any reason, UP UNTIL THE MOMENT OF BIRTH…and they wanted you to pay for it.
That IS the Democrat position. https://t.co/Sp6kPwR5Ao

Not surprisingly, Psaki was challenged to name a single limitation on abortion she or her former boss would support.

Please explain at what week of gestation you would support an abortion ban. https://t.co/a2d3MU1vUx

The overturning of Roe was a moment of deep introspection for Democrats who did not move to pass pro-abortion laws until it was too late. During the Obama presidency, Democrats held sizable control of Congress and a supermajority in the Senate, allowing them to pass virtually any law over Republican opposition. For more of 2009, Democrats instead used their political capital to pass the Affordable Health Care Act.
Since last year, President Biden has taken a number of pro-abortion steps to broadcast his appeal for progressives who remain unenthusiastic about his reelection campaign. Following the demise of Roe, he signed an executive order which among other things promised access to abortion pills through the mail, an offer that is still being litigated in federal court. The military has authorized extended travel and housing benefits for female service members who pursue abortions, and in retaliation Republican senators have held up the appointment of commanders who require the Senate’s approval. Members of Biden’s FBI recently visited the homes of pro-life activists to question them about their ties to terrorism.
