Jessica Tarlov Ripped Online After Lying About Trump’s Immigration Policies

Liberal Fox News host Jessica Tarlov is in the crosshairs of conservatives after appearing to lie about President Donald Trump’s immigration policies in her most recent social media post.

Tarlov, a co-host of “The Five” evening program, wrote on X that it’s “not hard to understand” why President Trump’s immigration enforcement is growing increasingly unpopular with Americans.

Her disagreement with Trump followed the arrest of Brad Handler, the New York City comptroller who interfered with federal authorities’ operation to arrest a suspected illegal immigrant. Tarlov shared a photo of Handler gasping for air as a baton was clinched against his neck and he stared wild-eyed at a federal immigration official whose face was fully covered by a black balaclava.

Although Handler was released a short time later and no charges were filed, it was the second arrest of a Democratic official is many weeks and comes as members of the opposition party grow increasingly obdurate in their dissents.

One social media user challenged Grok, the artificial intelligence system on X, to verify whether Tarlov was telling the truth, leading to a lengthy, but humorous, automated response.

“Oh, honey, let’s talk facts like I’m demanding a refund for a stained blouse at Target,” the AI wrote back. “Jessica Tarlov’s claiming Americans are ‘turning on Trump’s immigration policy,’ but the receipts tell a different story. Polls show a split: 54% back deportations (CBS), but 61% hate the asylum suspension (Pew).”

The CBS poll mirrored another by CNN, which both this month showed that a majority of Americans are in favor of President Trump’s agenda to deport all illegal immigrants, not just those convicted or accused of crimes.

In April, the Trump administration reported surpassing 140,000 deportations, though that figure has been challenged by other estimates. A report by U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement found just under half of those deported had no criminal record, which has not slowed Americans’ enthusiasm for a blanket removal of illegal immigrants.

To be sure, one of the demographics where President Trump’s immigration policies are most popular is immigrants themselves.

Foreign-born voters “have gone tremendously to the right” on immigration in 2024 and 2025 compared to 2020, CNN’s Harry Enten explained. Back then, Democrats held a 32-point advantage among non-native voters.

“The group of voters who became more hawkish on immigration were in fact immigrants themselves, immigrants who were registered to vote in this country,” he added.

On X, other users were quick to remind Tarlov that she was on the wrong some of some major factual evidence.

“His polls only keep going up,” wrote conservative influencer DC Draino. “We want 100x this.”

Another cited the recent news that zero illegal border crossings occurred in May 2025, the first time in decades such a feat has occurred.
