Jessica Tarlov Under Fire For Sick Comments About Amputee Co-Host

A debate over gun control and mental health spiraled outside the bounds of decency when Fox News co-host Jessica Tarlov took a literal below-the-belt shot at her show’s guest.

Tarlov, the token liberal of the popular evening program “The Five,” listened silently while Joey Jones, a military analyst for the network, complained that Democrats are scapegoating particular guns used in a small number of mass shootings to score a “political win.” Jones, who lost both legs after being struck by an IED while deployed in Afghanistan, accused left-leaning politicians of ignorance, a point which Tarlov might have taken to heart.

“You want me to prove I’m not evil to own a gun, but I’m a bigot ’cause I want you to prove you’re not crazy because you want to change your identity? I don’t get that,” Jones said, referencing the transgender shooter who killed two children during a rampage through a Minnesota church on Wednesday.

Jones broke down the math for his opposition: 20 million AR-style guns in the U.S. out of 400 million total guns.

“Only four percent of guns used in homicides are rifles, and that’s a much bigger category than ARs. So what you’re saying is you want me to ban five percent of the guns in this country that are used in four percent of the homicides.”

Noting the Supreme Court’s 2022 Bruen decision, the retired staff sergeant emphasized how little purchase Democrats have found in seeking to ban handguns. Multiple blue states have seen their restrictions overturned following the ruling.

“Is it gonna stop Democrats from using instances like this to find some lynchpin to raise money and create fear and maybe win elections? Nope, they’re not gonna stop either,” he continued.

Tarlov finally reached her breaking point four minutes in when she challenged Jones whether he’d still feel the same if his child were killed by a rifle like the one used by the shooter in Minneapolis.

“If your kid was one of that four percent, I think you’d be singing a different tune,” she replied hotly.

“Yeah, but my kid isn’t–”

“Oh, so lucky you!” she said, slapping her hand on the table.

“I’ll go to bed tonight and thank God on my knees that don’t exist anymore that my child is still alive,” Jones responded to the camera.

But it was Tarlov’s final word that set off the internet on Friday.

“Well, now you’ve played the leg card, and I can say no more,” she quipped.

One X user, calling Tarlov “reprehensible,” said her brash style of progressivism is too valuable for Fox to punt on.

“She’s reprehensible. Fox will never get rid of her,” they wrote.

User Wendy King replied, “Tarlov should be fired. An apology and/or suspension will not suffice.”
