Ex-Jill Biden Spokesman Rips Ex-White House Aide In Escalation Of Post-Presidency Feud
Michael LaRosa, who served as a spokesperson for former First Lady Jill Biden during her husband’s time in the White House, went scorched earth on one of the former president’s senior aides in a heated social media post.
LaRosa, who has repeatedly voiced his displeasure with certain members of the Biden Administration, took aim at former Biden White House Senior Deputy Press Secretary Andrew Bates in an X post Sunday, stating that Bates had “lost all credibility.”
LaRosa responded to a post from Bates attempting to contrast New York Attorney General Letitia James and Director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, which referenced reporting from the Associated Press and the New York Times. The former spokesperson ripped Bates for quoting the outlets after previously disparaging them during his time as a White House staffer.
“Remember when this guy SMEARED and SAVAGED the journalists, editors, and the reportering of NYT, the AP, and the WSJ for four years, even a little less than a year ago?!” LaRosa wrote. “These are the type of Dem press flacks from the Biden era who lost all credibility with the public and the media,” he added.
The veteran political strategist went on to state that any Democrat who considers hiring Bates and other members of the former president’s communications team should “recall the damage they did to our party” and “the years that these robotic wind-up toy mouth machines and keyboard warriors lied, bullied, gaslit, and smeared their way for FOUR years in the Biden White House.”
“Democrats and journalists should never forget why we are where we are today……Because of the conventional tone-deaf talking-point robot and smear machines like him,” the heated post continued. “We can’t ONLY embrace journalism, transparency, and the free press when they expose the other team. That’s not how it works.”
Bates emerged as one of former President Biden’s fiercest defenders in the aftermath of last month’s disastrous debate performance, which sparked intense scrutiny over the president’s cognitive ability and ultimately forced him to drop out of the race. Two days before Biden announced his decision to drop out, Bates denied reports that the Biden family had met to discuss the possibility, the Daily Caller reported.
The former staffer also spent several weeks denying an increasing number of worrying signs, including instances in which Biden needed to be guided off a stage by former President Barack Obama, another incident in which he wandered off while meeting with world leaders, and several other stories relating to the president’s declining mental state.
LaRossa has frequently levied harsh criticism towards the Biden Administration and the former president’s staff since he left office. In a scathing segment with Fox News back in May, he described the Biden inner circle as a “cult” run by “bullies” and “mean girls” who shielded the Bidens from criticism while retaliating against critics, including himself.
“This was a group in the White House who were allergic to transparency, and I’m talking about just in the East Wing,” LaRossa said. “The very first day walking into the White House, the usher was fired, and I couldn’t get reporters straight answers, because nobody would give me straight answers.”
