Joe Biden’s Latest Comment About Gas-Powered Sports Car Is Proof Of Hypocrisy
You know how President Joe Biden has seemingly been on this crusade this year to force folks away from gas-powered vehicles and to look into purchasing an electric one instead by actively causing price hikes in gas prices (stimulus money and closing down the Keystone Pipeline) and not doing anything to lower it in the long term? Well, as it turns out, the man is a raging hypocrite. I know, right? A liberal being a hypocrite. Who would have ever guessed?
The Daily Wire is reporting that on Wednesday, Biden hopped aboard his massive gas guzzling plane, Air Force 1, and went to Michigan where he took a tour of the 2022 North American International Auto Show at Huntington Place Convention Center located in the city of Detroit. The trip was supposed to be an effort to further push and promote electric cars.
However, it seems this plan imploded not long after Biden arrived. He immediately hopped right into the brand spanking new Chevy Corvette Z06, which is a pretty sweet looking ride. But it runs on gas, not electricity, which kind of defeats the purpose for which he visited this particular show.
And he didn’t stop there. He apparently gushed about how much he loves the Corvette.
After Biden gives the engine a solid rev, he goes on to say he’s going to drive the car home. You can see the look of pure excitement on his face in the video captured below:

Here are more details from the Daily Wire:
While Biden might want to take home that car, he is supposed to be encouraging Americans to take home electric vehicles.
Under Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act, Americans will be granted a $7,500 rebate starting in 2024 if they purchase electric vehicles that meet certain requirements and are assembled in the United States. According to Bloomberg, the “legislation knocked out about 70%” of the 72 models of electric vehicles that previously qualified for tax credits. As a result, fewer than 12 of the cars on display at Detroit’s auto show qualify for the tax credit.
The Daily Wire’s Ben Zeisloft has previously reported that companies like Ford and General Motors have already offset any potential “savings” by raising the price of some of their most anticipated electric vehicles.
Going on to cite what it calls “significant material cost increases and other factors,” Ford informed consumers that price hikes between $6,000 and $8,500 for the electric vehicles it produces back in August. According to the car manufacturer, the F-150 Lightning Pro will now be sold for $46,974. The same vehicle only cost $39,947 last year. That’s a pretty significant hike in cost. Even without that price increase, these vehicles are ridiculously expensive and out of the price range of the average American.
“The tax credits are meant to help Americans combat climate change while choosing a supposedly greener option. Similarly, the Biden administration has also touted tax credits for things like installing energy-efficient windows,” the Daily Wire said.
“First of all, immediately, people will be able to lower the fuel costs in their homes,” Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm stated back in August. “There’s a 30% tax credit that you can claim in 2022 for installing energy-efficient windows, heat pumps, energy-efficient appliances. That is right away.”
“And, on top of that of course, if citizens want to install solar panels on their roofs so that they can generate their own power, that’s another 30% tax credit,” Granholm continued. “And of course, there is the tax credits at the dealership for the automotive sector for electric vehicles and if you install an electric vehicle charging station in your home, you can also get a tax credit.”
So basically, you have to spend tens of thousands of dollars if you really want to receive the benefit of the tax credits being offered. It’s ludicrous and out of touch with reality.
