John Brennan Faces Calls For ‘Treason Trial’ After Bombshell CIA Report
Calls for a criminal prosecution of former CIA Director John Brennan are bursting forth following a bombshell new report he was intimately involved in furthering the 2016 Russiagate hoax.
Bryan Dean Wright, a former CIA official, accused Brennan of manipulating the 2016 Trump-Russia Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA), which the agency produced in response to allegations that the president’s campaign colluded with Russian operatives to influence the election.
Brennan, he explained, sought to include the discredited Steele dossier in the agency’s assessment while serving as director. Even more damaging is Wright’s allegation that Brennan played a central role in leaking the Steele dossier to the media ahead of the election.
Brennan, a former CIA officer, retired in 2017 after serving under former President Barack Obama. He was among an elite group of intelligence leaders tasked by Obama with ascertaining whether Russia interfered with the election.
A special counsel concluded in 2023 that any alleged Russian interference in the election was unrelated to President Trump’s campaign.
Both Brennan and former FBI Director James Comey, who partnered with the CIA in the Russiagate investigation, should be criminally prosecuted, Wright alleged.
The revelation comes on the heels of another by CIA Director John Ratcliffe who last week released a new report, titled “Tradecraft Review of the 2016 Intelligence Community Assessment [ICA] on Russian Election Interference,” which ties his predecessor to the mushrooming scandal.
Passages in Ratcliffe’s report describe “excessively involved” Obama appointees participating in early drafts of the first document, which was rushed to completion in a “chaotic” and “atypical” process that he calls “markedly unconventional.”
The current CIA director concluded that a “potential political motive” may have played a role in the leak of the Steele dossier and maintained that his analysis was conducted by career operatives in the CIA’s Directorate of Analysis division.
Shortly after leaving office in 2017, Brennan told the Wall Street Journal that he never read the Steele dossier, which was compiled by a former intelligence official working for an opposition research firm hired by the Clinton campaign.
Employees under Brennan, including Wright, have since come forward claiming that was a lie.
However, the Obama CIA director did more than participate in the ICA; he intentionally siloed its authors within the CIA, limiting the ability of nonpolitical appointees on the National Intelligence Council to express their doubts about the dossier’s authenticity, Wright wrote in a Fox News report.
Another passage from Ratcliffe’s report reads: “Direct engagement in the ICA’s development [by agency head Brennan] was highly unusual in both scope and intensity. This exceptional level of senior involvement likely influenced participants, altered normal review processes, and ultimately compromised analytic rigor.”
The report was shared with “more than 200 U.S. officials. This is unusually high for such a highly compartmented product,” a move which Wright claimed was intentionally made to increase the likelihood that the Steele dossier became public.
“In doing so, they tried to destroy not just President Trump, but also the Republic itself. And that’s why this still matters,” stated Wright.
“These men thought they knew what was best for America, and they didn’t give a damn what voters like you thought. It was their country – not yours – and they were willing to act with their profound powers to destroy a politician they didn’t like.”
MAGA readers were enraged about the possibility that Brennan may skate on future criminal charges.
One X user, citing the Constitution’s clause for treason, wrote, “‘Whoever, Owing Allegiance To The United States, Levies War Against Them Or Adheres To Their Enemies, Giving Them Aid And Comfort Within The United States Or Elsewhere, Is Guilty Of Treason And Shall Suffer Death.’ 18 U.S.C. § 2381 – Treason.”
Another concurred. “Exactly. And people who acted poorly on Jan 6 already knew this story about the Collusion hoax, and watched as serious questions were raised about the integrity of the 2020 election. Normal people’s reaction to these two attacks upon the integrity of our country would be one of rage,” they responded.
A third questioned the curious trail of CIA controversies that have materialized during Trump’s time in public life, the American Tribune reports.
“How many CIA treasonous coups have been launched against 45/47? This one + Mueller probe, the pay for play with Zelensky despite perfect phone transcripts, manufactured sexual harassment from unknown date, time, location… the 2020 election coup with huge assist from CCP…. 2022&2024 election fraud… at least two assassination attempts… endless law-fare … and globalists are doing everything to crash the markets, escalate WW3, hinder deportation and manufacture riots (insurrection). I feel like I’m missing a half dozen or more?” they asked.
