Jim Jordan Defies The Biden Regime, Says NO SPECIAL TREATMENT For Hunter Biden
House Oversight and Accountability Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) and House Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan (R-OH) have placed Hunter Biden and the wayward son of President Joe Biden on notice, his testimony will be on their terms, not his.
As reported by The Hill, Biden has pushed for a public hearing, likely to provide a national platform for him to appeal to the court of public opinion via a highly sympathetic establishment media. Conversely, in a letter to his legal team, the committees wrote that the younger Biden had affirmed his availability for the deposition they have demanded by subpoena. The letter from the committee chairs came after Biden’s legal team sent their own missive stating that he is only willing to testify in public and not a closed-door deposition.
The two chairmen wrote,”We appreciate your confirmation that Mr. Biden is available and willing to testify on December 13,” according to The Hill.
They explained,
“This testimony will occur initially in a deposition setting, as has been the consistent practice of Committees of the House of Representatives in recent Congresses—during both Republican and Democrat majorities—as well as these Committees during this inquiry. We also appreciate your confirmation that Mr. Biden is willing to testify at a public hearing. We look forward to his testimony in a hearing at the appropriate time.”
Biden’s attorney Abbe Lowell had written previously that the attorney doesn’t trust the Republican leaders to be truthful in any account relating to Biden’s testimony.
He claimed, “We have seen you use closed-door sessions to manipulate, even distort the facts and misinform the public. We therefore propose opening the door.”
“If, as you claim, your efforts are important and involve issues that Americans should know about, then let the light shine on these proceedings.”
In a post to X, the Oversight Committee released the letter in full, writing, “Hunter Biden must comply with our subpoena and appear for a deposition. He will not receive special treatment or dictate how Congress conducts investigations. After Hunter Biden sits down for a deposition, we will hold a public hearing at a later date. Democrats should have no concerns with this process as this is how they conducted their impeachment inquiry of former President Trump and the January 6th Committee.”

Although some in the House have also pressed for public hearings, the House committees have made it clear that the inquiry into Biden’s business practices, being a valid legislative function related to the impeachment investigation into Biden’s father, have been handled through closed depositions with other witnesses and Biden’s demand for public testimony “amounts to a demand that he receive special treatment from the Committees.”
They continued, “Nonetheless, if it helps to alleviate your stated concerns, you should be aware that, consistent with House and Committee rules and practice, we intend to videotape the deposition and release the deposition transcript soon after its completion.”
Congressman Tim Burchett (R-TN) suggested on Dan Abrams Live “I’m an open door kind of guy. I believe in transparency and everything and in government. I don’t care if he wants to sit in the bathtub and do it; I don’t care,” he added sharply. “Just get his dag-gum butt before the committee and let’s ask him some tough questions.”

Sharing an interview with Fox Business’ Maria Bartiromo Burchett clarified his view, “Hunter Biden doesn’t get to dictate the terms of a subpoena. If he thinks he does, he’ll be held in contempt of Congress.”
As previously reported by Trending Politics, in a recent report, a financial crimes investigator has raised several red flags on Hunter Biden’s “Unusual” payments from China in 2018. A Bank Secrecy Act manager raised concerns that the payments did not appear to correspond to “any services rendered,” and were “unusual” and “erratic.”
