Joy Behar Loses It As Trump Inauguration Looms: ‘Not A Normal Person’

“The View” co-host Joy Behar devolved into an unhinged rant on the show’s final episode before Inauguration Day on Monday. The rabid Trump hater ranted that the president-elect is “not a normal person” and suggested that the 2024 election was not above board.

Behar — who has for years accused the president-elect of inciting an “insurrection” and being a “threat to democracy” for challenging the results of the 2020 election — was incensed over the lack of people “standing up” to Trump. “You know what bothers me is the capitulation that’s going on everywhere. I mean at this point Michelle, Nancy, Kamala, and Karen Pence are standing up against Trump. The men are folding like cheap suits,” Behar ranted.

Co-host Sara Haines agreed, saying “it’s the women” as the audience erupted into applause. “It’s just like the legislation,” she added.

Joy Behar then took her rant to the next level by claiming that there was nothing “normal” about Trump’s election or impending inauguration. “I just want to say, this is not a normal inauguration. This is not a normal person. He’s a convicted felon. Why do they go as if this is a normal inauguration?” she exclaimed. “This is not a normal person. He’s a convicted felon. Why do they go as if this is a normal inauguration?”

Behar’s latest meltdown follows a series of similar rants on “The View” following President-elect Trump’s historic re-election bid. During a segment last month, co-host Whoopi Goldberg floated a bizarre conspiracy theory that Vice President-elect J.D. Vance and Elon Musk are plotting to “get rid of Trump” and install themselves in power now that the election has been won.

“Who is in charge? Because I’ve been saying it for a while. I’ve been saying it,” Goldberg rambled as she launched into her monologue. “I think Elon Musk believes he’s president. I do. I’ve called him vice president. I called him president because I don’t know what JD is doing. I hardly ever say, I don’t remember the last time we even talked about JD.”

“He’s planning the presidency when he’s gonna get rid of Trump,” Behar then chimed in, to which Goldberg followed up with, “So you think it’s Musk, Musk/Vance?”

“Possible,” Behar responded.

The long-running ABC program has also been racked by a series of legal issues in recent weeks due to incorrect statements made about Defense Department nominee Pete Hegseth, the politically motivated criminal cases against President-elect Trump, and incoming border czar Tom Homan. As a result, the panel has been forced to read a number of on-air legal notes sent to the network in order to correct the record.

“I have a very quick statement,” an annoyed Sunny Hostin stated during the show’s December 1 broadcast. “It’s not gonna be that quick,” co-host Whoopi Goldberg then interjected.

“Pete Hegseth has denied any wrongdoing, his lawyers said he paid the woman in 2023 to head off the threat of a baseless lawsuit,” a stone-faced Hostin continued. “No charges were ever brought.”

The correction was made in response to the panel’s false statements about unproven, anonymously-sourced allegations against Hegseth. “The View” hosts, including Hostin and Behar, had repeatedly suggested that Hegseth was guilty of sexual assault without any evidence.
