Joy Behar Spews Hilarious Conspiracy Theory: ‘Ms. Clinton Won!’

“The View” co-host Joy Behar offered her own twisted view of the 2016 presidential election that saw former President Donald Trump handily defeat ex-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Behar cited the well-worn trope that Clinton won the popular vote, saying, “I continue to believe that you won. I don’t care what they say.”

Behar began by heavily criticizing Trump and his supporters saying, “You know this country has a lot of problems. And the main one is named Donald Trump, okay? I can’t personally believe that this loser has so many people who still think that he could make a decent president. He’s been criminally charged with 91 counts. I mean he’s practically got one foot in jail and another on a banana peel. This guy. And they still say ‘Oh we still like him.'”

She then asked Clinton what she makes of that, to which the Democrat jokingly asked Behar if she had just written a play about that.

In full, the 81-year-old former comedienne turned talk-show co-host then went on to say, “Mrs. Clinton did win the popular vote. I continue to believe that you won I don’t care what they say.”

In her reply, Clinton remarkably compared Trump to Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler attempting to explain how Trump was somehow similar to Hitler.

She said, “Well, Hitler was duly elected… and so all of a sudden somebody with those tendencies though, dictatorial authoritarian tendencies would be like, ‘Oh, okay, we’re gonna shut this down. We’re gonna throw these people in jail.’”

“They didn’t usually telegraph that… Trump is telling us what he intends to do.”

Later in the episode, Behar seemingly attempted to walk back her ‘election denier’ statement, saying, “Let me correct something because I don’t want the impression to be made that I didn’t accept the results of the… the Trump administration win. But I don’t like the Electoral College and you won the popular vote, he won the Electoral College…and that’s the thing that needs to be addressed because it’s not one person one vote. I think it’s un-American.”

Co-host Sunny Hostin even added the common leftist and provably false claim that the Electoral College is “based on slavery.” The former federal prosecutor is evidently unfamiliar with Federalist No. 68 in which Alexander Hamilton explained the need for an Electoral College:

The choice of SEVERAL, to form an intermediate body of electors, will be much less apt to convulse the community with any extraordinary or violent movements, than the choice of ONE who was himself to be the final object of the public wishes.

And as the electors, chosen in each State, are to assemble and vote in the State in which they are chosen, this detached and divided situation will expose them much less to heats and ferments, which might be communicated from them to the people, than if they were all to be convened at one time, in one place.”

As previously reported by Trending Politics, after 2016, the abolition of the Electoral College became a staple of Democrat talking points even into the run-up to the 2020 election. Notably, many of these calls died down after the Electoral College-driven ascension of Joe Biden to the presidency in 2020.
