JUST IN: Bill Clinton SLAMMED For Embarrassing Mistake On Social Media

Former President Bill Clinton made an embarrassing social media mistake Sunday when posting what he seemingly thought was a tribute to former First Lady Rosalynn Carter who had passed away at age 96.

Clinton posted a prewritten statement from both he and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton with the caption: “Rosalynn Carter was the embodiment of a life lived with purpose. My and HIllary’s full statement.” Unfortunately, instead of an image of a statement regarding Carter, the 77-year-old Democrat shared a statement on the death of Sen. Dianne Feinstein from September.

Rosalynn was the wife of the 39th President of the United States, Jimmy Carter, who held office from 1977-1981.

An account shared the faux pas on X, writing, “Somebody is getting fired. When your staffer releases the wrong memo. Seriously- Bill Clinton, 77, accidentally releases tribute to DIANNE FEINSTEIN instead of Rosalynn Carter after Former first lady died aged 96.”

The erroneous post was edited and taken down within minutes according to The Daily Mail; a corrected version was reposted.

The corrected statement read, “Rosalynn Carter was a compassionate and committed champion of human dignity everywhere. Throughout her long, remarkable life, she was an unwavering voice for the overlooked and underrepresented.”

“Thanks to her mental health advocacy, more people live with better care and less stigma. Because of her early leadership on childhood immunization, millions of Americans have grown up healthier.”

 “And through her decades of work at the Carter Center and with Habitat for Humanity, she spread hope, health and democracy across the globe,” he continued.

“Rosalynn will be forever remembered as the embodiment of a life lived with purpose. Hillary and I are deeply grateful for her extraordinary service to our nation and world, and for more than 40 years of friendship.”

He concluded, “Our prayers are with President Carter, Jack, Chip, Jeff, Amy, and the entire Carter family.”

The outlet reported that Carter passed away two days after being placed in hospice care and six months after being diagnosed with dementia. She is survived by her 99-year-old husband, four children, and eleven grandchildren.

The bereaved former President told reporters, “Rosalynn was my equal partner in everything I ever accomplished.”

“She gave me wise guidance and encouragement when I needed it. As long as Rosalynn was in the world, I always knew somebody loved and supported me.”

Reportedly the former President and First Lady spent time together in her final days.
